heres an update pertaining to evan tanner from mma news.com
There is nothing to the story of Marvin Eastman vs. Evan Tanner on 9/22 in Anaheim as has been reported. Tanner is not under contract to UFC nor are there any matches scheduled for him at this point

I am sure that isn't right...you must mean on the same card as Hughes vs. Serra right??
As for Wandy moving to the US...that is true, he wil be looking to bring Chute Boxe here to the states. I am not a fan of Eastman and I am tired of seeing him fight. He is to unpredictable...one day he is a monster that i don't see anyone stopping and then he is a Danny Abbadi that anyone can beat!!
I love the Machida vs. Nakamura bout...should be a good one.

Yup.
Turk, your coming down for Training Camp this week correct?
Because, on Saturday after Training Camp and nothing happens there *ironically* there is a cage fight in Florence only 20 bucks, and Jorge is going to be there as a ref.

They have released him due to the choke to David Heath at UFC 74.
Heath gets the last laugh.

That is huge rigfht there!! I know that he was trying to show the guy what respect is all about and I do agree he held it to long but go back and watch some of the old Royce fights. He used to hold subs longer than he should...granted, not that long but still longer than he needed to.
***** to be Babalu right now. I have no idea what is going on with him.

Former UFC middleweight contender Mike Swick suffered a rib injury in training and is off of the Sept. 19 UFC Fight Night card. Jorge Gurgel trained fighter Dustin Hazelett has been signed to take his place in the Octagon against Canadian fighter Jonathan Goulet, according to a report on the UFC’s official website.
Hazelett, who carries a 9-3 overall record and a 2-1 record in UFC competition, has recently won back-to-back fights for the promotion by defeating Steve Lynch at UFC 72 and Diego Saraiva at UFC 67.
Although the original match-up between Swick and Goulet was set to air on the live Spike TV telecast of UFC Fight Night, MMAWeekly sources have confirmed that the fight has been replaced on the telecast by the rematch between Pete Sell and Nate Quarry.
Lightweight contenders Kenny Florian and Din Thomas headline UFC Fight Night 11, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19 at The Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The Ultimate Fighter: Team Serra vs. Team Hughes premiers immediately following UFC Fight Night 11.
MAIN CARD (to air on Spike TV)
Kenny Florian vs. Din Thomas
Chris Leben vs. Terry Martin
Junior Assuncao vs. Nate Diaz
Nate Quarry vs. Pete Sell
UNDERCARD (may not be televised)
Jonathan Goulet vs. Dustin Hazelett
Joe Veres vs. Gray Maynard
Edilberto Crocota vs. Luke Cummo
Leonard Garcia vs. Cole Miller
Thiago Alves vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
that bad part is that the fight will not be aired!!

I have convinced myself that Dustin Hazelett is just another Jon Fitch in the wings. A incredible talent that is just going to fight and continue to win on undercard bouts, then finally, they will bring him to a live event where he rocks the place. Too bad he lost to Tony Deshouza (sp?) with that kneebar.
Hazelett will get his time to shine... just give it time, now lets hope he beats the crap out of Jonathan "Don't Call me Robert" Goulet.

I knew that. I watch it on HDNet. He owns HDNet and is going to start promoting more events.
Dustin is pretty amazing. Very down to earth guy and has great BJJ. Tony was a tough match for him though. Both guys are monsters on the ground.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has taken over the worldwide mixed martial arts landscape, signing a majority of the premier fighters in the sport. But there are still a few notable fighters out there that have yet to call the UFC, or anyone else for that matter, home. Chief among them is Fedor Emelianenko, nearly universally regarded as the #1 heavyweight fighter in the world.
That situation isn’t likely to remain so for much longer though, as speculation has swirled around Fedor’s contract status, or lack thereof, as of late. The hot rumor over the past few days has been that he has inked a deal with the UFC.
Not so says Reed Wallace, President of White Chocolate Management, who represents Fedor Emelianenko in the United States.
[UPDATE] “Fedor has not signed anything [as of Tuesday afternoon],” Wallace informed MMAWeekly. “He’s going to do something soon. They can’t negotiate forever.”
It’s quite obvious that the UFC would have to be the leading candidate for Fedor’s services, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t still other suitors vying for the world’s top heavyweight.
Fedor’s managers, Vadim Finkelstein and Apy Echteld, met with the UFC late last week, but a signed contract has yet to materialize. “UFC discussions went very well according to Apy,” said Wallace in reference to the meeting. Initially it seemed the UFC was unwilling to make any modifications to their contract, but it now appears there has been some movement.
“I can say that they are very close to a deal, but some last minute players have stepped up as well,” he said.
Speaking of his opinion on the interests of Fedor, Wallace continued, “I’d be happy for him to go to the UFC. He would get great exposure there. The world need’s to see Fedor fight. I get excited when I watch him. He’s the greatest. I’d just love to see him fight.”
[UPDATE] Wallace confirmed, however, that there are at least two other major players vying for Fedor. One of those is Mark Cuban, billionaire owner of the National Basketball Association Dallas Mavericks and the HDNet television network. Upon discussions with Echteld, Wallace verified that the other is an undisclosed party that has already presented a major competing offer to Fedor’s management.
Wallace indicated that he would be approaching Fedor’s management with an offer from Cuban’s group this weekend, assuming that he does not sign with the UFC or elsewhere prior.
Regardless of his contract status, Wallace did mention that Fedor will attend UFC 75 in London on Saturday, but don’t assume that his attendance is indicative of the UFC winning out amongst other suitors.
Wallace said that Fedor recently signed a sponsorship deal with Affliction, makers of the popular clothing line, and will be in attendance this weekend, along with UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture, for promotional purposes
I hope he signs with the UFC!! Please make this happen Dana!!!
