I think this is a mistake for Gholston. He could really use another year. It will be interesting to see how the draft plays out. Right now he could go anywhere between 10 and 25.

His combine will determine where he goes. Its right now a combine between Gholston, Harvey and Campbell. Whichever of the 3 put up the best numbers moves to the top of the list for who is the 2nd DE drafted behind Long.

Yes i agree the combine is going to determine this but Campbell is just a freak of nature( becoming mroe common it seems) and so i think his combine numbers will beat out both. Gholston will come in second because he is built great for a DE. Harvey will come in third not becuase he is bad but jsut because the other two are kind of freaks at times. I would be happy with any of them depending on when we draft them.

I like Jenkins more than Gholston. I think right now Gholston probable go 12-22 pick.

Mistake?? How could being a 1st round LOCK (10 to 25) be a mistake?? I mean you're talking millions of guaranteed dollars for signing a paper vs. going to school your senior year risking a career ending injury and you'd get zip???

Come on!!!!!! You'd make the same decision.

Now if you were projected as a 5th rounder and everyone believes you could work hard and BECOME a 1st rounder the next year, then it would be worth it as you'd be gaining a considerable sum of $$$.

I think he needs the time to learn more and if he stayed he would of been a top five lock. It would of actaully probably have made him more money by staying. It is a risk to stay i guess but it is a risk I would take.

While a top five pick would make more money initially, you're also giving up one year of youth making several million on that year. A year you would not get back. I'm not sure you'd gain at all.

The first round is the money round. If you're a lock... you go.

I dont think jenkins was a 100% lock in the first round though.. I really think he might end up being a safety in the nfl.. He's not great in man to man coverage and he is slow coming out of his break a lot of times... No one in the nfl runs that zone coverage like osu does all the time so I think jenkins still has a lot to work on if he wants to be better in man to man coverage.. if he came out this yr I think he would end up being a safety in the league.. at least with one more yr of college and work he will guarantee himself being a first round corner if he fixes some of the apparent flaws in his game.. he's a good corner but he's not a 100% lock for first round

Honestly, with the defensive ends OSU will have next season I wouldn't be surprised if Gholston's numbers would have gone down. Lawrence Wilson and Cameron Heyward will both be studs, and Vernon would have likely played less.

I know that but I am also talking about the experience and not getting thrown under the bus. I think wiht one more year in college he would have alot more experience and be alot better at the pro game.

Marcus Freeman and Alex Boone are both staying as well.

Agreed. But he'd also get better with a year at the Pro level... possibly even more so. Plus he'd be making the jack, which is what this sport/business is all about for most of them. It's the select few that have that fire and desire that we want on our team to win championships.

See I think coming out before you are ready and getting thrown under the bus. This just leads to problems.
