In another post I saw it says the Cowboys are shopping Bobby Carpenter, and Marcus Spears for a possible 4th and 5th round draft selections. I would take that and also say we sign DT Corey Williams. I would say these are potentially realistic acquisitions. We re-sign OL. Stacy Andrews, LB. Landon Johnson, P. Kyle Larson, LB. Caleb Miller, DE. Jonathon Fanene, QB. Ryan Fitzpatrick, WR. Tab Perry, WR. Glenn Holt, LB. Rashad Jeanty, and S. Herna-Daze Jones, as well as letting go of DT John Thorton, CB. Deltha O'Neal and SS Dexter Jackson. It's also been estimated we will get 11-12 picks this year for various departed Free Agents.
1st) Keith Rivers OLB 6'2 236 USC 4.65
Playmaker for the Trojans. Chances are Gholston will be gone and we already addressed our Defensive Tackle concerns. (rated #1 overall OLB..)
2nd) Lawrence Jackson DE 6'4 265 USC 4.85
Another playmaker for USC's defense. He brings an all-around skill set to the Defensive End position. (rated #7 overall DE)
3rd) Quentin Groves DE/OLB 6'3 255 Auburn 4.60
This is a longshot. I don't think he will be available in the 3rd round, however he has a shoulder injury, which could hurt him if Chris Ellis, Darrell Robertson, and Wallace Gilberry have good combines/senior bowls. He could play LB on run situations and move to DE on passing downs. (rated #6 overall DE). If he isn't here look for a Corner or Guard
3rd comp) Trae Williams CB 5'10 185 South Florida
He has been on the move as of late, but is still not in the top 10 as far as corners are concerned. I know we have taken cornerbacks high lately but after JJ and Leon we have no one. (rated #11 overall CB..)
4th) Traded for Carpenter
5th) Traded for Spears
5th comp) TaShard Choice RB 5'10 210 Georgia Tech (rated #11 overall RB..)
I really like this guy. I think he is the best senior RB in the draft, although with all the juniors that really doesn't matter. This kid really knows how to use his speed well and I think he could make a great replacement if we have to let go of Rudi.
6th) Will Arnold OG 6'4 320 LSU (rated # 16 overall OG)
We need to improve our offensive line, and he manhandled some of the SECs best interior lineman.
6th comp) Kellen Davis TE 6'6 253 Michigan State
He is an underrated pass-catching TE that we have been calling for. (rated # 9 overall TE)
7th) Pierre Garcon WR 6'0 205 Mount Union
He is a division 3 monster, and I know first hand, I played against him. If he is able to put his 40 time below 4.55 he should get drafted. Can do some damage as a punt returner. (rated #44 overall WR)
7th comp) Jack Ikegwuonu CB 6'1 193 Wisconsin
Tore his ACL. Could be a monster, worth a late round gamble. (rated #7 overall CB; pre-injury).
I think that would leave us with a solid team and a depth chart like this:
