Extend TJ
Resign Fitzpatrick, Stacey Andrews, Landon, Dhani, Larsen
Cut Thornton, Dexter, Deltha, Blue Adams
Trade Henry for 5th round pick
Draft(3rd and two 7th compensatory picks)
1. Sedrick Ellis, DT USC- Seemingly Unblockable inside, will take over Thornton's spot and be a great fit beside Peko.
comparison- Abomi Okoye
2. Curtis Lofton, MLB Oklahoma- Sure tackler and instinctive playmaker who hits with the power of a much bigger player, it's time for a replacement for Thurman and this guy should be a leader not a troublemaker.
comparison- Jon Beason
3a. John Carlson, TE ND- One of the only classic TEs in the draft. Great blocker with glue on his hands and will make a good redzone/checkdown target that Palmer needs badly.
comparison- Heath Miller
3b. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB Tennessee State- I might have to change this pick with the way he'll look after the Senior Bowl, but if he somehow lasts to the 3rd I would love him. Effortlessly shadows recievers and uses his length to get his hands on the ball. Also looked good at safety and can return punts.
comparison- Shawn Springs
4. Jason Jones, DE Eastern Michigan- Great size and athleticism who needs some work, but could turn into a great pass rusher and run stopper at DE.
comparison- Justin Tuck
5a. Keenan Burton, WR Kentucky- I think he could be the steal of the draft. Has had bad luck with injury's but they are all minor and non-recurring. I love his toughness and intangibles, but he's also a very underrated athlete who can go over corners and get the ball and make people miss with it in his hands. Also has punt return experience.
comparison- Patrick Crayton
5b. Mike McGlynn, OL Pitt- Old-School tough lineman who primarily played RT, but will make a better NFL guard. Will provide versatile depth taking over for Kooistra as the RG/RT backup next year and could eventually take over for Bobbie Williams at RG.
6. Tyrell Johnson, S Arkansas State- Small schooler who dominated at the 1AA level and has all the physical attributes needed to be a starter in the NFL someday. Will provide depth at FS because all our other guys are more SSs.
7a. Orlando Scandrick, CB Boise State- 3 year starter who left early. Solid size and athleticism, but what I really like about him is his special teams potential he had a ton of blocked kicks and returned a few for touchdowns in college.
7b. Jerome Felton, FB Furman- Hard nosed fullback who can block and run. Jeremi needs some competition even if he doesn't lose his job.
FA
Bobby McCray, DE Jaguars- Athletic pass rusher who will come cheaper this year than he would have last year, but he's still capable of 6-10 sacks a year and will provide more in that department than JSmith. Still has upside.
Eugene Wilson, S Patriots- Lost his starting job, but was key to the Patriots earlier super bowl defenses. Great in coverage which will allow Ndukwe to make more plays near the line and brings a winning pedigree.
Randy Starks, DT Titans- Talented young player who will provide NT depth behind Peko. Used to playing in a rotation and you can never have enough big bodies on the line.
Drew Carter, WR Carolina- Talented WR with a lot of the same skills as Chris Henry, but no attitude. From Ohio so there's incentive to come here and he's really on the upswing of his career.
William James, CB Eagles- Skilled CB who has had some injury concerns, but when healthy he's capable of starting some games and could be a steal.
