Ok mock number 2 been doing some studying, and after chad's latest demands i have him traded to Philidelphia for their 19th overall pick and their 4th round pick... Coming to our 9th pick i see all 4 the Dlineman would covet gone so have us putting a package deal together trading our 9th overall pick and our third rounder for minnesota's 17th pick and thier 2nd round pick so we would have the following picks once this happened. Note not crediting us w/ any spectacular Free Agents also, even tho we may pick up Someoen hopefully

1(17)viaMin--Kenny Philips S Miami
1(19)viaPhi--Calias Campbell DE Miami
2(46)Cin------Lawrence Jackson DE USC
2(47)viaMin--Frank Okam DT Texas
3(96)comp---Trevor Laws DT Notre Dame
4(108)Cin-----Martin Ricker TE Missouri
4(111)viaPhi-Trae Williams CB South Florida
5(143ish?)--- Jason Rivers WR Hawaii
6---------------- Offensive Lineman

Not speculating on 6 rounder say we take best possible player or add a Offensive Lineman for some depth

Anyways i like doing mock drafts fun to pass the time during the offseason, any thoughts or rants lemme know=)

And btw kenny philips may not be a popular choice but i just dont see one of the 4 big lineman falling to us at 9 and trading down and picking up soem extra picks i feel we can get adequete lineman later in the draft, but i think Philips is a special Safety and can add depth and a playmaker to go along w/ our young and upcoming secondary... As for taking back to back DE's well competition never hurts and DE is a spot where we need depth and competition to be competitive, yes losing chad johnson may hurt but i dont see a glaring need to add a WR early in the draft I like this Jason Rivers kid and think he could be a good #3 reciever for us, and Rucker could give us a spark from the TE position. The Giants proved defense wins championships, the offense w/ Rivers-Rucker and a healthy RB committee i think can be balanced and at times be explosive as we need it to be, btu it all comes down to the Defense making plays and giving the Offense good opportunities

I dont know. With 2 first rd picks and 2 seconds i just think we could do much more. If we moved Chad we better get a first day wr, and I would want a DT on the first day too. I like Laws but he alone will not fix our DT woes. He is undersized. We need some meat up front. I never really got to see Kenny Phillips play so I dont know about him, I would rather take Dominique Rogers-Cromartie.

If we did the trades like you say I would rather go Desean Jackson (next Chad next Devin Hester? who knows maybe), Phillip Merling/Calais, Pat Sims, Red Bryant. Or something of that nature. This way we get 3 new huge massive bodies up front for the D and a dangerous return man that could maybe one day take Chad's spot. Or maybe instead of Desean we get Rogers-Cromartie who would be our new nickel corner and return specialist.

There will be some decent LB's available in the 3rd rd and later, taking one on the first day and adding to the log jam at LB that we will have at training camp next year isnt what I want them to do.

I'm guessing you want Justin gone. And that you consider DE to be a greater need than DT. I think DT is of the utmost concern for this team. But letting Justin walk would make us extremely needy at both positions. So I guess we will see.

Well i said Oline depth but didnt feel like guessing who may or may not be there in round 6.

and on a side note, would like to say after thinking about it, if Odell comes back and Landon or Dhani are resigned I think if Frank Okam was there for the 47th we would grab him over Mayo... went ahead and edit'd it.

That being so think it would be nice if we would walk away from this draft w/ :
2 DE's
2 DT''s
1 Safety
1 CB

to help shore up the defense

and a bit of offense TE,WR,OL to add soem depth and fresh legs on that side of the ball.

I love most of the players, but we can't trade Chad without at least a prospective #1 or #2 receiver in the draft. Also, Philly may be looking at trading McNabb which would take them out of the market for a veteran (win now) reciever. If they trade McNabb, they're looking to compile draft picks, not trade them away. I'd love to get the players you listed though, with the exception of Okam, who is said to have motivation/attitude problems. Look at Dre Moore out of NC State with that selection if we go DE in the first.:tiger:

If Minnesota traded up, it would be to get a QB or Phillips as they have a glaring need at safety. I like the idea of trading down though and getting at least 5 premium defensive players in the first 3 rounds, especially if Ellis isn't there. Campbell reminds me of a larger Jevon Kearse. He and Geathers at the ends would be a presence for years to come.

there is too much many wrapped up into Chad unless he redoes his contract or sits out.. that just loses money for him and the Bengals gain. its lose lose for ochocinco.. he is staying.. he does not have a legit reason to even take it to the Players Union..
