I'm a Bengals fan of 5 years (18 years old) and I've been looking at this message board for a while but haven't really had anything to add, but now I think I can add something interesting to the discussion with this mock draft loaded with trades. This mock implies Odell Thurman is reinstated and We sign Corey Williams in free agency.

Round 1 Pick 3: Trade Chad Johnson and 5th rounder to Oakland for number 3 pick. Darren McFadden RB Arkansas We need someone. Kenny Watson is getting older, Rudi Johnson is a question mark, Kenny Irons is coming back from a serious injury and DeDe Dorsey, While amazing, is a 5-10 carry per game back.

OR Sedrick Ellis DT USC If we don't sign Corey Williams then we should take a shot at Ellis. He may be better than Dorsey and can trip blockers like nobody's business

Round 1 Pick 21 Traded #9 to Washington for number 21, their 2nd rounder, 5th rounder and 3rd rounder next year, who pick Kenny Phillips. Bengals Pick: Calais Campbell DE Miami. With DT met in free agency/first pick, DE is the next biggest need and Campbell has massive potential.

OR Phillip Merling DE Clemson/Quentin Groves DE/OLB Auburn Both are fast risers who may end up in the top 25. I don't really know much about either but my sources tell me they're both really good pass rushers, which is what we need.

Round 2 Pick 15 Devin Thomas WR Michigan State Comes in to replace Chad Johnson. Has enormous potential and better hands than CJ.

OR Mario Manningham WR Michigan Devin Thomas is more of a TO type while Manningham is similar to Chad Johnson, so do we go with a powerful, physical WR or a replica of Chad Johnson? It's an interesting choice.

Round 2 Pick 21 Fred Davis TE USC We need a pass catching option over the middle now that we lost our number 1 receiver. Adds a threat we don't have.

OR Gosder Cherilus OT Boston College Granted he has to drop, but he probably will since this class is so deep in OT. He is an excellent run blocker, which is exactly what we need. And with Willie suddenly developing a string of nagging injuries, the bengals should probably start grooming his replacement. Very similar to Willie, in that he is a crushing run blocker and once he latches onto a defender he won't let go of him.

Round 3 Pick 9 Traded to Detroit for Shaun Rogers. High risk but if he pans out...totally worth it. We offer a 3rd when they expect a 4th to ensure getting him. I really like this possibility. If we can get Shaun Rogers for cheap because Detroit wants to get rid of him...we could really sure up our run defense

Round 3 Pick 21 (09) Traded to Dallas

Round 3 Pick 32+ Ezra Butler LB Nevada We need more LBs, even though we have a good LB corp, at least 3 will get injured a year. The reason I have him at the bottom of the 3rd is because players from weak conferences (Like the Western Athletic Conference)tend to drop because of the weak competition they face.

Round 4 Pick 9 (traded to Dallas along with their 3rd rounder picked up from Washington and a 5th rounder for Bobby Carpenter and Marcus Spears

Round 5 Pick 9 Traded to Dallas

Round 6 Pick 9 Fernando Velasco C Georgia We need a bigger body at C, Ghiaciuc got pushed around too much.

Round 6 Pick 32+ Jack Ikegwuonu CB This is a gamble pick. His value plummeted after tearing his ACL, but the bengals take a low risk chance and use their 6th rounder to select him.

Round 7 Pick 9 Traded to St. Louis for Ryan Fitzpatrick (I think?)

Round 7 Pick 32+ Andrew Bain OG Miami A project at OG who is could become a mauler due to his size. I am really hoping he drops because he is really good, but if he doesn't...

Leon Hart OT/OG/C Auburn More likely there at the bottom of the 7th. Can learn behind Willie and Levi and could provide great depth because of his versatility to play all 3 positions of the Oline.

I know you guys don't like talking about trading chad johnson. But if he doesn't want to be here...he doesn't want to be here. It kills me to say it, but I say we trade him for big time value before he gets too old, then replace him in the 2nd round.

Well my main thinking for the chad Johnson trade is...He's an elite receiver who just turned 30 and has at least 5 years of greatness ahead of him. Plus the Raiders need someone to go deep and Chad has always been excellent at running deep routes. And also, from the Raiders point of view, there's always that inherent risk of drafting any type of WR in any round (there's an inherent risk in drafting...anybody!). Remember Detroit's problems? and Braylon Edwards was picked with the number 3 selection and I think Chad will be better than him until he retires. So My thinking is...you want an elite receiver why draft one when you have a proven product waiting for you. I knew it was a little outrageous when I posted it but honestly if you think about it, Deion Branch was worth the number 24 pick...and he is basically garbage. He only looked good because Brady threw to him. You can't say that about Chad. He was good more than just Palmer. He's a proven star. So I made him worth a top 5 pick because I want to be in the top 5 haha.

And I liked the Washington trade too. And I checked the value chart, their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th is less than 10 points more than our number 9 pick so its completely fair. And you're right about Fred Davis. We need a blocking TE more than anything but one with some kind of receiving ability. As for the Dallas trade, I don't know where I heard it, but someone said they were trying to get a 3rd and 4th for both of them. I don't know how official that is, but due to the fact that neither fit in their system and they both have huge contracts so I imagine Dallas just wants to get rid of them. And I wish Mike Brown would try some of this, because it'd be really nice. I just wish we do something to change our defense for next year.
