Let's begin by assuming that FA deals for Dhani Jones is complete, Madieu Williams gets resigned, as does Stacey Andrews. Fanane also gets tendered for another year of service. We part ways with Justin Smith, Bryan Robinson and Dexter Jackson.
I am also continuing my prayers that perhaps Oakland wins the flip, takes Darren McFadden, then Atlanta takes a QB, which allows you know who to drop to us in the 1st.
Pollack and Thurman both make it back onto the roster. Finally Marvin goes with his gut and switches the D to a 3-4. The only FA we go out and get is a Vet DT to come in and play NT
RD 1 - Sedrick Ellis DT - There has been more than enough conversation on here for this pick to be justified.
RD 2 - Philip Wheeler LB - Right away at the very least I think this guy could come in and contribute on ST's. He will make a great rotation at ILB with Brooks/Thurman/Jones. Perhaps start out at the nickle LBer.
RD 3 - Brad Cottam TE - Some sights don't even have this guy as being drafted until the second day. But how often do you find a guy that is this athletic and 6'8". This would definitely help our Red Zone TD average.
RD 3 - Cliff Avril DE/OLB - This guy projects very well as a 3-4 OLB. Geathers will definitely be on the Outside, and so would Pollack/Jeanty/Henderson, but we all know the concerns about the last 3. Plus Avril already has some OLB experience.
RD 4 - Robert Felton OG - This is one of the guys that led the way for McFadden the past few years. He will work out as a backup, maybe help if Andrews walks and we need help.
RD 5 - Nick Hayden DT - I watched a few Wisonsin games this year and this guy has a great motor and can really disrupt the backfield.
RD 6 - Darius Raynaud - WR - I was fairly surprised to see this guy tucked so far away in the WR lists. Should work out well as a slot reciever/returner.
RD 7 - Haruki Nakamura - S - This guy realy has a knack for finding the ball on the field. Would probably only make it for ST's ability, but might be able to find his way on the field in a couple years as a nickle S.
