*sigh, here goes

Here is my opinions, feel free to criticize as you see fit.
Chad Johnson won't get traded
Willie will retire before he re-negotiates
Rudi should be cut or traded, if thats not possible, then yes i agree he should re-negotiate
I like your re-signees, good job.
Also like your cuts, too bad Dex didn't work out
Morgan and Corey would be solid FA pickups, BB is not CJ replacement, but a decent 3rd option assuming CHI dont keep him, and last I heard they love him there
I absolutely love your draft, but is it possible? no. Gholston is a reach at #9, calais will be there at 20, and would be a decent late first rounder assuming he doesnt kick butt at the combine.
Frank Okam will not be available in the 3rd round, I hear early to mid 2nd round.

You took some serious time and energy into this, I do like it and would be happy as a cat at the beach if it happened, i just think there are too many reaches.

The reason the giants have 3 great DEs is because they got a gem in the 3rd round in Tuck.
We don't need a high paid DE (Geathers) and two more 1st round DEs. That's a lot of money for the DE position. Replace Campbell with kentwan balmer, pat sims or Dan Connor. otherwise. I like this draft.

Okam has fallen as of late, a lot of sites have him as 4th rounder. Berrian is enormously talented and would be a great #2 and top deep threat, but Chi could franchise him if they don't resign him. Gholston is unlikely to even be there at 9 so I do not see him as a reach, you would be hard pressed to find any site that does not rank him in the top 10 of this draft class. Campbell needs to work out really well, but this time last year people thought he would be a sure fire top 5 this year; but playing on a poor Miami D and constant double and triple teams neutralized him so he has fallen. Either way his size and a good workout will skyrocket his draft stock. Anderson renegotiating is a long shot, but he loves this team and this city, so it would be worth a shot. I have Rudi renegotiating because cutting/trading him would be impossible if we move Chad. Which I think we should and here is the reason. Without Chad constantly calling for the ball and lighting into Palmer on the sideline, we will be able to better spread the ball around and Carson won't try to fit it into double coverage to Chad which will result in fewer picks. And history has shown that a player who doesn't want to be there won't play, look at Moss in Oakland.

I agree Tuck was a steal but having Gholston and Geathers would allow us to do a lot. And Campbell has the size to move inside on obvious passing downs; **** he has the size to add 10-15 pounds and play DT, which I think he would be a better prospect than Balmer. It is investing a lot on the DL, but we do not have a lot invested at LB or in the secondary outside of Joseph and Hall which neither have huge cap numbers, so it would be possible plus it's more likely than us investing a crap ton in a FA.

I love the draft. and i would be content with your first 6 picks. No way we trade Chad. I would rather trade TJ since his contract is about to be up and it wouldnt cost us anything. I dont want to add a FA HB either, especially if it means we lose 3D again. That guy is down right explosive and i would love to see him get 10-20 touches a game.

I apologize, I mixed my words on that one. I meant to say that I think Gholston will be gone by the time we draft, would love to see him come to us, but I think him and Ellis will both be gone.

Speaking of TJ, do you think his showing at the pro bowl will result in him asking for more money? He's not a FA this year is he? If not, should we renegotiate now or wait?

I think the Giants have good pass-rushing DEs because they have drafted some good DTs in the second rounds (they have three DTs that are way better than Peko) and obviously they have good pass-rushing DEs.

You do need solid DTs in order to have a consistent pass rush though.

Finally someone else with a brain! You have to have good dt play for outside pass rush!
Justin Smith has been much alligned on these boards about being solid not spectacular!
Lets look at who the dts were at his playing time! Translation no help if Justin is solid with no help what could he be with solid players around him? hmmmmm
I agree 10 million is too much to keep him but all u haters should think about what is here in front of you!

One thing I may change about your draft would be that I wouldn't take Campbell as my second pick in the first. Replace him with someone like Groves. We'd have one mean pass rush out of the 3-4 with Geathers, Gholston and Groves. The three O G's. Especially with Bryant and Okam mixing it up one the inside. I think this would force us to keep Landon Johnson as ILB, along with Thurman, Brooks or Dhani. Our D would definitely go up to the 10-15 range, counting on that we keep everyone healthy.

DT - Williams, Peko, Bryant, Okam, Rucker, Fanane.

OLB - Geathers, Gholston, Groves, Jeanty

ILB - Brooks, Thruman, Dhani, Johnson

And I already think our Secondary is solid.

The only problem is that it is all a dream. We are not going to trade Johnson. Therefore forget about that other DE. I don't think Gholston will be there at 9 either, unless he ***** it up at the combine. But we can dream right?

I'd love to see it. The only thing I might change is drafting two DT's. If you pick up Corey Williams, I think you'd be fine with one of the two. Use the open slot for a new running back to replace Rudi. Maybe Matt Forte in the third could be our Brandon Jacobs with triple D and Kenny Irons playing the Amhad Bradshaw role.

I liked Campbell there because it actually allows us to go to a 3-4 since he is big enough to be a 3-4 end, and Gholston can stand up and be our Shawne Merriman (yeah a bold prediction but wait 3 years and then judge it.) I can see Gholston falling to 9 if Brohm reestablishes that he is a top tier QB in his workouts; and McFadden slips to 6: this scenario could stop both the Jets and the Ravens from plucking him, although I think Baltimore could nab Clady at 8 if they retain Suggs.

You have to love the Quentin Groves of 06, but injuries put doubt into people's minds this year, which is why he could slip into the second round; but I doubt it will be all the way to 46. Either way even if Johnson is around we need to devote definitely 3 maybe all 4 first day picks to the D particularly the DL.

Thoughts:
-Would be hard to restructure contracts of Willie and Rudi with them both likely being gone in a few years.
-Why are we releasing Dede Dorsey and Chris Perry to go get a guy who matches the top running back on our team? And then maybe cutting Watson?
-Letting Fitzpatrick go would be giving up on a trade made during last season's training camp. He barely had time to adjust and would've had little oppurtunity even in practice last year. Jordan Palmer probably won't make it as long as we think, considering his only other option was an arena football team in Arizona. Probably got signed because his big brother is our starting quarterback.
-The amount of WR/TE here would leave us a little short on the o-line. The amount of DE/DT would leave us short for DB's.
-I agree we need 3 d-line players in the first 3 rounds, but 4 is a little much.
-Nice offseason. Really like the Dan Morgan signing and draft.
