Dennis Desrosiers, the first head coach of the Cincinnati Cyclones when they opened play in the East Coast Hockey League in 1990, was hospitalized in Saginaw, Michigan this week for surgery to repair a brain aneurysm that burst, the Saginaw News reported.
The 58 year old Desrosiers was stricken Monday night in a grocery store parking lot, according to the article that appeared in the News Thursday. He was in intensive care at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital Thursday in critical condition.
In 4 seasons behind the Cyclones' bench, including 2 International Hockey League seasons from 1992-1994, Desrosiers compiled a 132-108-23 record. He became a member of the Cincinnati Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005.
