1.Sedrick Ellis. DT USC 6’1” 305 4.96
Marvin Lewis recently commented on Bengals.com stressing the importance of lineman. "That has to be a priority. You have to be able to affect the game by knocking around the quarterback and pressuring the football," Lewis said. This would be the first big step in committed to the ideology.

2.Xavier Adibi OLB Virginia Tech 6’2” 220 4.54
Very few college programs get to the ball and disrupt the play like Virginia Tech. Xavier Adibi is a direct descendant of this attack the ball mentality leading the Hoakies with 115tackles this season. He also showed in Senior Bowl practice the ability to transition into coverage smoothly. His athleticism hides his size.

3.Johnny Dingle DE West Virginia 6’3” 273 4.84
Lewis also said the team is currently still in a 4-3 base defense but indicated that could change in the next month as personnel changes. Bengals.com hinted that Zimmerman and Fitzgerald might be gearing toward a change and Dingle could be a candidate that would acclimate well coming from the West Virginia 3-3-5 defense.

3.b Jacob Tamme TE Kentucky 6’5” 234 4.58
Tamme’s numbers improved each season at Kentucky and he grew as the Wildcats did. He showed the speed and ability to find the holes in the Zone while his fleet footed quarterback moved around the pocket. A 4-time All Academic SEC selection, Tamme showed that he has the head to go with the talent (Kentucky’s all-time leader in receptions by at TE).

4.John Greco OT Toledo 6’5” 320
You can never have enough offensive linemen. 2 years ago the Bengals offensive line was decimated by injuries and with the aging of Willie Anderson this Toledo product maybe best suited to drive down I-75 and learn from one of the all-time Bengal greats.

5.Allen Patrick RB Oklahoma 6’1” 195 4.45
Patrick is a fierce runner. He breaks through arm tackles and has the speed to get to the corner. If Kenny Irons and Chris Perry were healthy the Bengals could have a crowded backfield but until the time comes it needs all the help it can get.

6.Nick Hayden DT Wisconsin 6’4” 305
Hayden would bring the Wisconsin toughness and Big Ten mentality to the defensive tackle position. Peko’s potential is undeniable but rotation is the key to any good defensive line and another 300lb body would do wonders.

7.Dexter Jackson WR Appalachian State 5’9” 4.36
Jackson put up 92 yards receiving and 2 TD’s in Appalachian State’s stunning defeat over Michigan. He certainly has the NFL speed now if he can develop the ability to sit down in open pockets in the defense look for Jackson to be a Wes Welker type third down receiver for the Bengals.

7.b Anthony Hoke OLB Cincinnati 6’1” 237 4.57
Antwan Peak, Trent Cole and now Anthony Hoke. The Bearcats have made a habit at developing DE/OLB into NFL talent a regular thing now, Hoke is no exception to the rule. From Warren Harding to the University of Cincinnati, the Bengals would do well to follow the trend and keep him in state.

We don't really need another small back. We need someone bigger that can take over for Rudi in a year or two.

I would rather take Lawrence Jackson at #2 and Shawn Crable at #3.

I'll second that.

I would swap the Dingle pick to 4 or 5, we'll see after the combine. Then I would go ahead and take a RB in that spot. Maybe Chris Johnson out of ECU. He's quicker than Perry was out of college, and has great hands. And would be the fastest back on the team. If Rudi doesn't run any better between the tackles, we cut him after the season and get a bigger cow next year.
