Is anyone else mad that, if you have Time Warner, we will be unable to watch the first two Buckeye games?? I do not like this new trend we are seeing in football with the NFL network showing games and the Big Ten...it would be ok if that was available to everyone but it is not and therefore I am fighing mad!!!:mad:

They have a link on their site explaining why they are not acarrying the Big 10...basically the Big 10 wants them to not charge for the new channel but they want TW to pay them so much per cable subscriber....what it comes down to is TW is mad that the Big 10 will be making all the money they want to make...TW is the most greedy company I have ever seen...they care nothing of their customers and only about the profit margin.
I understand it is a business but you would not have that business without a customer base.

I feel everyone should be able to watch all the NFL games as well. We should have providers that do not offer these things to us. It is getting ridiculous.
I bet within the next three years we will see a PPV football game....maybe a PPV Super Bowl

wow, i hadnt even heard this. that is absolute freaking bull! having pay per view football games is already here too by the way. i can't remember which game it was last year, but it was on ESPNU. i was at a buddies house with a few friends all of us together to watch the OSU game. it wasnt a big game but it was our buckeyes so it didnt matter. dish only offered the game as a pay per view option for ESPNY PPV and we had to pay $23 to watch that one stupid game. being the idiots we are, we did just that but it really ticked us off.

If you really want to show TW how mad you are then switch to dish like I did a couple months ago and when they ask you why you are cancelling your service, say its because your company refuses to include the NFL and Big 10 Network. I've been happy with dish so far and get more HD channels. Have only lost reception 2 for less than one minute.

Isnt' there sites on the internet that allow you to see networks outsite your area? It's probably illegal, but it makes things possible.

Yeah I think it is stupid. It looks like their trying to do the same thing with football as they have done with boxing. It's stupid. They already make enough money with all the advertising they do, when will they be happy? It's ridiculous really. It cheapens the sport. In my opinion it has ruined boxing. I hope something is done before it ruins football.

couldnt say it any better. I think it is rediculous that you have to pay for ANY sports games! everyone is getting there money with ticket prices being sky high and the networks are making money on people watching the game and ad money. Football goes pay per view ill being going to a bar that is willing to pay the outrageous price for subscriptions to watch all these games.

Insight digital cable provides the new Big Ten channel, but good luck on getting it installed in time for it. (same with Dish(3 to 4 month waiting list)) I'm going to the local BW3 to watch the Akron game here.

I have Insight and I guess I have to tip my hat to them for getting a deal done in the final days before the season started and especially for making it free or part of the classic package. It was nice watching the Bucks but the end of the mich game was something to see!
Anyway, it is free right now for me but Insight's CEO is already on record saying it will be considered when the rates are reviewed for next year. I personally am tired of the NFL, Big 10, etc trying to make even more money by starting these networks & sticking it to us by trying to force us to buy their service to see games we normally could see before. I will not pay extra for the Big 10 network & hope it falls flat on it's face.
I mean seriously, ABC/ESPN will show all the bigger games as usual, I am not gonna pay to see OSU play the likes of YSU or Akron. I'd rather throw the ball with my kid in the backyard than give into the networks & pay to watch a game of that caliber.

Time Warner is one of my least favorite companies, but I take their side on this one. NFL Network and Big Ten Network are the greedy ones in this case, they are asking for way too much. They are insisting that Time Warner give these channels to everyone, and want to charge an arm and a leg for every subscriber.
Time Warner wants to sell these channels a la carte. That is a much better idea. Only those who want them would pay extra.
I hope Time Warner sticks to their guns.

I disagree. From an article I read, The Big Ten Network is asking for 1.10 per user. Two networks are asking for more than that, and Time Warner carries them both. Those being
CNN - 2.10/subscriber
FoxSportsNet - 1.65/subscriber.
I'm sorry but I dont' watch Fox Sports Net at all. I used to watch iMax on that but they canceled the show so now I don't watch it. To my knowledge there's not much on that station and what sometimes I flip past it and it's off altogether. Why are we paying for that stupid channel when we coudl get rid of it and save money by putting the BTN or NFL Network in it's place.
Time Warner is just flat out greedy and they need to start caring more about their customers than their bottom line.

I do watch one or two things on FSN but I would gladly give those up to get the Big Ten Network. TW just wants to charge a arse load more for a special sports package!
Good post man. I would give ya rep if i could!

I watch Fox Sports Net a lot because of all the Reds games. Time Warner couldn't very well stop carrying Reds games in Cincinnati, and replace it with Big Ten Network when Cincinnati does not have a team in the Big Ten. If Big Ten Network would charge the same as the Golf Channel, I would be ok if TimeWarner switched those two.
I went to Purdue, but I have lived in Cincinnati long enough that I mostly follow UC and Xavier when it comes to college sports. Give me a Big East Network and I would be willing to pay extra.

I saw a commerical just I dunno 5 minutes ago and the guy from my cable company was on it and he said
"Thanks to you the fans, who protested the Big 10 Network charging you, our viewers extra money, we were able to strike a deal with the Big 10 Network, now you get to see it for free!"

Dish rules! I got Dish and my g/fs grandfather boasts about he loves his DirecTV and its sooooooo great and laughed when I got Dish. The other day he was talking it up like DTV is great for offering the Big Ten and asked if I got it, heck if I know I said he looked it up and we got it in HD...I just had to laugh it off at him, DirecTV has become a joke for sports/HD programming especially when they say "more HD satellites than anyone else" or whatever but whats the point if they dont use them. Dish already has 40+ HD channels. Boomshakalaka!!!!

I get no Bengals games and am forced to watch them on a crappy 20" flat screen television.
After we got satellite we ditched our cable and only receive FOX/NBC/my5 in terms of locals...Who wants to watch NFC games? Not me. Thankfully my g/f gets NFL Sunday Ticket through DTV and while they watch the Dallas games on the big screen I watch the Bengals in her bedroom back home...It could be worst I suppose.

Haha, I hear that. I got my cell phone all hooked up to send me txt messages on everything that happens during a game to keep me informed..Yeah I am that crazy about needing my Bengals football lol...
Their are websites p2p comes to mind that actually broadcasts every single nfl game over the internet. Its completely free and the quality is ok but its better than nothing...Nothing ***** more than just watching a football game just to get your fix in if you really could care less about whos playing...
