LeBron James is one of the most talented and marketable players to ever play basketball or any other sport for that matter. He might only be 22 so he has time to change but on any issues non-basketball related LeBron has been more than disappointing so far.

The link above talks about how LeBron won't sign a letter that will be sent to China urging them to help end the conflict in Darfur. LeBron mainly won't sign it because Nike has major interest in China.
Also LeBron insulted Stephon Marbury who is trying to endorse low priced sneakers. When a reporter ask LeBron what he thought about Marbury's efforts to provides sneakers that are around $15 a pair (because a kid was killed for his expensive sneakers), LeBrown responded "Not all sneakers are of the same quality as Nike's" (Para-phrasing). So instead of supporting Marbury he just insulted the shoes.
I've seen people being owned by companies before, but this is getting a little out of hand. LeBron should just walk around with a dog collar that says 'Property of Nike' on it...

jeez.....like China is actually going to listen to Lebron James about the Darfur conflct. HAHA!

$500 says Lebron James, in all his high school educated wisdom, can't even point out China on a map.

Regardless of how far his education went, I applaud Lebron for keeping his nose out of where it doesn't belong. If he didn't have an opinion on the matter (like many Americans do) then why push it. Lebron's job is to play basketball, not to serve as some sort of peace ambassador to China.

Obviously you missed this part of the article:
"As Beijing prepares to host the 2008 Olympic Games, however, the Chinese have shown signs of softening their stance. Criticized by other Hollywood celebrities for serving as an artistic adviser to the Olympics, film director Steven Spielberg sent a letter in April urging China to help end "human suffering" in Sudan. Shortly thereafter, China dispatched an envoy to encourage the Sudanese government to accept a United Nations peacekeeping force in Darfur."
It's not going to "end" the conflict but it will help. I don't expect LeBron to be a political activist but signing a letter shouldn't be above him.
And I see you didn't respond to the sneaker incident with Marbury...
