Ooops. I forgot. On March 9th this past week my infraction for getting around the language filter finally expired. Getting around the language filter??? For this infraction I'm truely sorry. However in light of reading the last few monthes posts here and there I noticed that everybody does it.
Has this rule lost its luster or was I a victom of some misplaced frustration.I beleive it was probably the latter. I guess I'll never know. But rest assured, I won't mask my profanity anymore. It's easier to just let you guys filter it.

I don't know exactly what is was that earned you a warning as the post has been appropriately edited and it happened before I became a moderator. However, I can tell you we've been making an effort to address those posts which circumvent the language filter. It's not going to be a perfect process, though, and some posts will slip through. As a group, we're not necessarily scanning each and every posts that is made on here. Personally, I've been on here much less over the last couple of weeks anyways, so I haven't been able to tackle this issue as I did previously.
Obviously we want to be consistent. Short of pre-approving each and every post that is made, it's an uphill battle sometimes. That's where we need the help of other members of the forum. On more obvious matters which break the CoC, our members do a great job of reporting the issue to us using the "Report Post" tool. If you feel others are bing allowed to get away with things you were warned for, feel free to let us know, even if it's just in a PM.
Oh, and belated congrats on your infraction expiring.

I just having one question. Is "breaking the CoC" an example of an attempt to "get around the language filter?"

I really think you and Odell need to meet in a private chat room and have a discussion about "fairness" and equal application of the rules. I'm sure you could lend a sympathetic ear and relate to each other.

Maybe you're right...but the difference is I'm back (I actually never got banned to start with, it was only a minor infraction) and Odell's fate is still in limbo.
