i said it before and i'll say it again, the only thing he is sorry for is getting caught. all through the so called apology he had to force down a smile and i'd swear he almost started laughing a couple of times. i find it hard to believe that someone who is truely sorry would do that

Painful... painful post.
After deciphering, here's what I thought about it. I thought it was heartfelt. I thought he really understands the level of crap he is now in. And he also has the look of a man coming to realize that his career & life as he is accustomed, is over. He blew it and he knows it.
Trying to get people to feel bad for him? No,.. even if he was for whatever reason, that doesn't make a difference. We saw a scared, humbled guy, who knows what's coming for him.
I feel bad for him. He's a tremendous athlete and brought a lot of promise to Atlanta,.. but for what he did, IMO, he deserves a life ban from the NFL.

Vick will spend his sentence in at most a medium security prison, and since he will testify against others I bet it is a minimum security prison. Also, because of this I bet he doesn't even spend 1 year in jail. I expect another year suspension out of Goodell. I see him missing this season. Getting signed by either the Ravens or Raiders, sitting the suspension out and then playing for one of those two teams.
Do i think it is right no. But on the other hand keep in mind he killed some dogs. Little killed someone drunk driving and then was caught Drunk driving again afterward. He served a 8 week suspension.
Ray lewis watched two people murder someone and did nothing but stand there, he probably aggravated it. When it became apparent he could get in trouble he flipped on the others and is playing. I think our morality is way out of whack.

Did anyone notice the idiot who was making a statement about his involvement in what is considered animal cruelty....was wearing a snake skin tie?
I know i have no problem with the tie, but just found it odd that he'd actually wear that while apologizing for his invovlement in killing animals.
would that be the definition of ironic?

I keep hearing this argument, but it's not the whole story. The other important factor here is the ILLEGAL GAMBLING RING that he was financing. This is NOT just about killing dogs.
I am a Pit Bull owner and I deplore what people like Vick do to them, but it is not the entire case against him.

No more ironic then someone promoting environmental protection taking a private jet to the speech.

They're called, "Lier jet Liberals". The people that push for enviromently friendly ways of life while violating the same. Al Gore wants everyone to give up their cars as he thinks engines are the biggest threat to mankind, but rides around in a gas guzzling bullet proof limo. Barbara Stiesand want's cleaner air, but owns 7 SUV's. Leonardo DiCaprio rides around in a lier jet, and Michael Moore (yes, THAT Micheal Moore) thrashes big companies like Enron and Haliburton, but OWNS STOCK IN THEM!
Hint: PETA actually kills most of the animals they "rescue" off the street, and though they support people that bomb labs where animals are used for testing - and say that animal testing is wrong for medical use - the vice president uses insulin as she's a diabetic.
Hypocrisy at it's finest.
If you don't take what you're saying seriously enough to follow it, why should I?

Well, since I am a Falcon fan (live in north Georgia) and a member of ASPCA I feel like I'm more than qualified to speak on the whole #7 debacle.
He hosed us, pure and simple. When I say us I mean the city, Arthur Blank, the organization and the fans. We do the right thing by firing Junior after last year....hire a really smart Xs and Os guy in Bobby Petrino, have a really good draft....and then #7 and his disgusting "hobby" throws our team into a possible death spiral. Trust me, no fan of our team was looking at Joey Harrington being our starting QB when we signed him in March.
#7 will never take another snap as a Falcon. He's only on the roster now so that our franchise can try and recover as much of his signing bonus as possible. By June 1 of next year he will be an ex-Falcon. Whoever else in the NFL wants him, you're welcome to take him. I suspect it will be at least 2 years after this season before he's even available...(start of 2010 season)...

I'd love to be able to say he'd never play in the NFL again, but as long as there's a Jerry Jones or an Al Davis out there, Vick will have a job.
Though he may have to face reality when he comes back, and either be someone's back up QB or WR. He makes a better WR than QB.

You're dead on there Ghost....It will take an owner who doesn't care what anyone else thinks.....the Commish, pressure from groups like PETA, sponsors...
I laugh at these people who talk about Vick coming back as a RB though. He'd get killed. After watching the guy all these years here I can tell you that he's not that durable. A couple of runs in between the tackles and they'd be carrying him out of the stadium in a box....Maybe as a slot receiver or an occasional scatback-type gimmick runner.
He'll get a job. As a lifelong Falcon fan though I can genuinely say that I'm glad it won't be with us...

I have said all along that I doubt he will play as long as Goodell is comish. Just my thoughts.

Frankly, I am not against him playing again, but I just don't see it happening, unless Goodell can get the "bald faced lair" thoughts out of his head...

That's another reason he'll never play QB again. You think any self-respecting center is going to let Ookie place his hands there after his prison "experience?"
Ain't gonna happen....
