My office pool is tomarrow and some friends are getting together to draft tomarrow, I have been doing some mock drafts on espn.com to get a good feel for how the field is going this year?
For those of you who have already drafted? Do you have any tips? Does it look to you that its RB RB QB WR?
I am half tempted to get a good QB if I get left in the bottom of the draft order.
Any thoughts?

Draft RB's and lots of em then QB's
Take receivers After your rb's and qb's
and kicker and defense last

I did a mock draft on ESPN again to prep up. I got 3rd in the order and ended up with this
QBs: Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers
RBs: Larry Johnson, Travis Henry, Fred Taylor
WRs: Terrel Owens, Laveranues Coles, Donte Stallworth
TEs: Tony Gonzales, Jason Witten
DEF: Eagles
Do I have a good idea with what I am doing? This was a 10 man draft

And one last thing. The league I am in tonight has 12 teams. We are required to have this type of team
# Pos #perweek
2 QBs 1
3 RBs 2
3 WRs 2
2 TEs 1
2 Def 1
2 Kickers 1
2 Bench players 0

Don't draft Michael Vick. That is my advice.
There are many different theories to drafting. I think after the first 15-20 RB's you get marginal returns. The first 5 QBs and WRs as well as the first 2-3 Defs will be much more productive than the rest of the crowd.
I think if you can't get 2 of the top RBs then you should get a strong QB and WR. I had the third pick in my draft and by the time round 2 got to me the good RB's were depleated so I picked up the #1&2 recievers and then got a top 5 QB. The RBs I got in the 5th & 6th round were not much worst than what I would have gotten in the 2nd & 3rd round.
It was interesting that once I got the top 2 WRs everyone went for recievers and once I got one of the top QBs everyone went after QBs. That left some of the decent RBs left to pick from.
As with any draft you don't really know how it will go until the end of the year. At this point I think I'm in good shape and the cool thing is that I didn't do what everyone else did. I think if you don't try to change up the game and just follow everyone else your not going to have much of a chance of winning.

With this breakdown it is best to go RB for your first two picks, then go QB. But it really does depend where you are drafting and who the other teams are picking. For your third pick if all the top QBs are already gone then go WR, since one of the best ones will still be there. Be mindfull of bye weeks. Having your top backup on a bye week one of your starters wont help you at all. If both your starting RBs or WRs have the same bye week make sure you have two backups for them. Good luck and have fun!

Pretty good but you might want to trade for another RB (Or for a top flight WR) if someone is willing. Maybe trade Kitna and Whitten for someone whose hurting for those positions...

You have good RB's and QB's but are hurting in WR and Def.

Yeah there were not many wide receivers left available. I will try to pick up a good one with trading jason witten and john kitna. The defense I am not to terribly worried about it. There isnt a large difference in defensive scoring. I didnt pick up a defense until the 13th and 15th round

With the 1st pick in the draft, the Team walker select LaDainian Tomlinson.
With the 2nd pick in the draft, the Team powers select Steven Jackson.
With the 3rd pick in the draft, the Team Hallett select Larry Johnson.
already off the board.....

Looks good but WRs. Burress,Coles, and Glenn are solid but none of them are #1 WRS. A package deal of Whitten and Kitna is the best way to get one. Maybe a WR like Glenn or Horn as well. McMichael would be easier to move then Witten but both Witten and Gonzales has the same bye week so you have to move Witten.

At #9 it is best to double up on the RBs. But if Payton Manning is still there then go for him.

Well I always try to get top choices on my first 4-6 picks and try not to follow the herd.
So my pick usually come out in this order
1st Round - top ten RB
2st round- Top ten receiver like (Torry Holt,Marvin Harrison,Steve Smith etc)
3rd round-QB (no less than Marc Bulger)
4th round - 2nd rb (Jervious Norwood or M.Barber example)
5th round- 2nd Receiver (like TJ,if you can)
6th round- TE (no less than Jeremy Shockey)
7th round- 3rd rb or 3 reciever
8th round- back up qb
Then fill up the kicker (last) and defense(12th round),but load up on receivers that are worth a darn.I never waste my time on drafting a second defense, kicker,or TE,since you can easily find a bye replacement.Besides there is only like a dozen Tight ends actually used for passing, all the others are nothing but spot fillers.Biggest problem is watching if they suddenly take qb's in the first round, which I have seen for some reason and I still don't know why.If you find yourself in the last spot in the draft, goodluck, because you are going to have to pick top guys from other sections to get the best pick for your spot.
Here's a few area that come in handy around weeks 14-17 to prevent flop out seasons come playoff time.
Passing best team schedule for weeks 14-17 (each ranked)
Chicago 1
Arizona 2
San diego
TB
Cin 3
GB 4
ATL
NO
WAS
Running
Atlanta
GB 3
Houston
Cle 1
Cin 2
Best schedules for passing weeks 1-13
Arizona 1
Philadelphia 6
St Louis 2
Seattle 3
Bengals 4
Panthers 5
Niners
Bucs
Running
Jags ( it's gravy man except for a few bumps)
Baltimore
ATL
Carolina
NO
Arizona
Phi
Seattle (only a couple bumps to tumble, but hey,Shaun, can catch too)
Tenn

Kansas
So this could make a handy idea of who to get for early season and playoffs.

alright my second draft is finished. It was a little bit different format but I have a feeling that I absolutely tooled these fools. We had to have 2 qbs 4 rbs 6 wr/te 2 def 2 kickers.

Ah, I see. My drafts have a lot more players on them, so I thought some were missing. That is a nice line up.
