Like the title says , That team from up north of where real Football is played , opens with a home game VS. Appalachian St SAT.
Ap St is about an HR or less from where Im at. Beautiful campus in Mtns of NC and great place to party if your into that stuff.

But to the Football......

I would love to see MI sleep on these boys. I know the odds are a Long shot , but hey , I can hope right ? Wishful thinking. They do have a good chance.

After finishing 14-1 and beating Massachusetts 28-17 for its Second consecutive National championship, the Mountaineers are the likely favorite to win a third straight title. They'll be looking to extend their winning streak to 15 games.

"Opening our season against Michigan will be a great test to see what we're made of," Mountaineers All-American running back Kevin Richardson said. "I think it's a great opportunity for Appalachian to continue to get its name out as one of the top college football programs in the country."

Richardson rushed for 1,676 yards and a Division I-AA-record 30 touchdowns last season. He has 3,456 yards and 50 rushing TDs in his career.

Sophomore quarterback Armanti Edwards also returns after throwing for 2,251 yards and 15 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,153 yards and 15 TDs. Appalachian State averaged 35.2 points and 241.3 rushing yards a game last season.

Hmmmm.................

Im not going to brag and say I called this one , BUT ...............
I didnt want to come out and just say it cause I knew the Blue faithful would have thier remarks.
I did warn of a possible upset. Ive watched the Mountaineers play every year for the past 10 yrs. They have really looked great the past 3-4 seasons.
App St. has a dynamic Offense and I knew MI wouldnt be prepared for it.
This just made my year in college football.

Ahem .............
Im waiting for the MI fans that replied to this thread and laughed at me. :smirk:

55 - 0 ?????? :rotf:

Was this what you MI fans looked like during the game ????????? :scared1:

That sure is a lot of Smack talk from a person whose team just got beat in what will go down as the biggest upset EVER IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

From this day on when you have one team that is a huge underdog...the coach for that team will tell his players "If Appalachian State can beat Michigan then we can do this! "

Must make ya want to :suicide: knowing you will be on the bad end of that!!

i havent talked any smack, i've pretty much acknowledged that they played terrible and lost. whattua gonna do? we will see in november. i just love how worked up the OSU fans get and how the bantering in this rivalry is always so one-sided. Seriously, go on youtube and see how many Michigan ***** videos there are compared to how many Ohio State ***** videos there are. Or anywhere for that matter. OSU fans always just come across as so tasteless. JMO. I'll duck now for all the shots i will undoubtedly take.

Why is it that when we make fun of your team it is tasteless but when any Michigan fan makes fun of OSU it is all in good fun??

First off, lighten up...second off...the reason there are less OSU ***** videos is because most Michigan fans can't figure out how to work a computer!

The bantering is not one sided!! Trust me, I have heard a ton of smack talk from Michigan fans. It only feels one sided when the season has just started and you already have a loss!

Don't you realize that Michigan losing to a 1-AA team makes the whole Big Ten, including OSU, look worse? Particularly if Michigan manages to beat you all this year? I personally am starting to worry that the PAC 10 and SEC may start looking increasingly good to top recruits who want to win championships...

I posted the same thing last year, almost verbatim. It won't be well received. I even used the youtube analogy, I believe. Having lived in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Cincinnati I can say from experience that OSU fans handle the rivalry quite a bit differently than Michigan fans do.

I have seen many OSU s u c ks vids on you tube and have seen many a site dedicated to hating us Buckeyes!

But I will give ya this, most Michigan fans are not that outspoken about the rivalry. I just think that us Buckeyes are a bit more passionate about football and not so arrogant. (not that I am calling you arrogant)

I remember watching Ap ST last season in the 1aa division championship game and I remember asking myself a question what if they played in division 1 and them beating Michigan makes me beleive they can compete at a divison 1 leval and compete for a bow game maybe not in the big 10 but maybe in the wac, Conference usa or Sun. here is a question to all hardcore college football fans or any college football historians is this the best 1aa team ever assuming they win their third chmpioship in 3 years.

Nah Michigan fans are just as bad when they win on a regular basis.I know that from a fact since they talked all kinds of crud when Cooper was around. By the way when was the last time the Wolverines won that game I lost track now? LOL Was it 2003? Oh dear look like we own this decade so far sitting at 5-2 with three more games to go. Please do keep Carr around I'm starting to enjoy this. HAHA Four more wins and we'll call even from the Cooper years.

Puck Michigan!!!

Tressell 5-1 against the Wolverines
