When asked at his pre-draft press conference whether he’d be willing to use one of those picks to acquire a top veteran WR such as Chad Johnson, for example, Jones responded simply and succinctly “yes”
There is still plenty of interest in Chad and we should have no problem getting a 1st rounder for him.
the Bengals may not lack for dance partners as Dallas’ NFC East rivals Washington and Philadelphia are also expected to be interested along with several other teams.

If a team offers a 1st rounder and the Bengals don't trade him I will now know for sure that the Bengals care more about sticking it to a guy and money than winning a championship.

I think Dallas would but the question is if we would? $8 mil cap hit is just scary and I think its the only thing thats keeping the Bengals from trading him. It would have to be one monster of a deal for us to trade him.

Thats why Chad has had 3 contracts in 5 years. In 2006 Drew Rosenhouse was excited to announce that the Bengals organization was so generous and understood the talent they had in Chad and he congratulated the Bengals Front Office for making Chad the 4th highest paid receiver (at the time of signing) in the NFL.
That deal was a 6 year deal worth 28 million dollars with 10.5 MILLION DOLLARS upfront guaranteed money. The Bengals did this as they thought they were investing in the franchise's future. Now, 2 years later and the 10.5 million in his pocket...he wants to leave which would cost the bengals another 8.5 MILLION DOLLARS in a salary cap hit.
Get a rookie that you have to pay first round money, pay a 8 million cap hit, and sets it up for the future everytime someone is unhappy in Cincy.
Sure does sound like the front office would only be about the money if they didnt trade him for a 1st round pick to me (sarcasm)

There really is no choice
do you really think he can come back and play? Have you ever worked a job you didn't like? Yeah you probably have and did you work hard at that job? No
Let's say he comes back and plays and doesn't complain or even talk to the media, do you think he is going to give it his all.
Let's say we wait till after june 1. We can either get future picks (We won't even know what position those picks will be) or a player (most players who teams wanted to trade would have already been traded). Then we go into the season with Doug Gabriel/Chatman/Holt as our #2.

The stress of Chad and T.O. on the shoulders of Jones would be interesting, but I think he would crumble if that would happen. Dallas ain't big enough for the two.

For starters, I would wait til the mandatories or season starts. Remember, Lance Briggs just last year said "I WILL NEVER PLAY ANOTHER SNAP WITH THE CHICAGO BEARS".......Needless to say he started for the Bears and helped them quite a bit.
Wait and see if Chad lives up to his word. Even T.J. and Carson both seem to believe that he will eventually show up or he will be there when it counts. Give that opportunity a chance.
If he indeed does not show up then reevaluate the situation. But you cannot give into this at such an early stage. Just my 2 cents.

Lance Briggs wasn't happy cause he wanted a long term deal from the bears and they franchise him instead. And he didn't call out the team and organization. He didn't call the bears a non playoff team like chad did. Chad wants out and nothing else.

i have heard alot of trade rumors with Dallas
#1 Marion Barber and a pick for Chad and Rudi
#2 Roy William for Chad
#3 2 First rounders
#4 Jason Witten
#5 Bobbie Carpender
With how the cap is these days its hard to make a block buster trade but if any thing could happen i woud love to have all these players mainly Roy Williams Marion Barber ad Bobbie Carpender
we coul wip up a good trade that would benifit both sides that would be awsome
Whatever

I think the issue here is that Chad is worth more than a late 1st rounder. Miami got a 2nd rounder out of Chris Chambers, who had 1 1000 yard season in 7 before the trade. The Pats got a 1st from Seattle for Deon Branch, and he's never had a 1000 yard season. Chad's worth at least a 1st and a 2nd,from that comparison.

I'd go with Barber and the #22 pick for Chad and Rudi.
Roy Williams for Chad doesn't work for me. Williams is a SS,and we have Chinny primed and ready to take over that spot.
I'd take two 1st rounders, but the #22 pick would have to be involved,so either the #22 and #28 this year or the #22 and Dallas' 1st rounder next year.
Witten...wow...we'd be gutted at WR but Witten and Utecht would be deadly together. The issue is no RB to make our offense work.
Carpenter,no,not in a million years. Maybe if they threw him in on top of one of these other deals. Bobby's a bust. Plain and simple. A reclamation project at LB is not worth #85.

I could see us getting a 1st 3rd and Carpenter
No way they trade Barber or Whitten
Roy Williams is old and slow, he's like playing a LB at SS. There is talk in Dallas that he won't even play on third down.

We could use him to teach iur secondery and he is coming off a Pro Bowl year him and Ellis both have at least two more solid years i would like to get them throw bobbie carpender on there swap first rounders then trade one of the first rounders our second to ATL and get there 3 first rounders we can get Connor and Hardy in the second Balmer in the first and with the third 2nd rounder get Erin henderson

Teach then what? how to horse-collar?
Williams is highly over rated and everyone agrees he had no business being at the pro bowl.
I wouldn't mind trading a 1st rounder for some of Atlanta's picks. It's actually realistic too cause if they don't take Ryan and the 1st they will be looking to trade back into the 1st for Brohm/Flacco/Henne.

I'd trade Chad for the Roy Williams in Detroit, and send his arse back to Kitna...
but not the for the Roy Williams in Dallas.

i dont know i like Williams out of Dallas alot he has made alot of pro bowls and is a great player he is also younger than Chad i understand that we have White and Dukes but i really would love to have him start and have someone rotate for him on obvious passing downs and if there is any way we can get another LB rom them i really think that if we want a big trade it has to be with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys

Id do it for a 1st rounder.
Pick up Ellis, a RB like J-stew or Felix Jones dive into the 2nd round and pick up a WR and then work on defense in line backer as well as a slew of other positions with out 11 picks.

Like him or not, he is a monster receiver and if he is traded during the draft it will be a monster deal. I think we are gonna come out on top next saturday.

Dallas is my second favorite team and I know alot of Dallas fans and the general idea i get from them is that they are most interested in a trade involving #28 and either Akin Ayodele, Bobby Carpenter or Marcus Spears. Carp & Spears are known to be on the block since they were Tuna draftees.
I wouldnt be upset with those, I'd prefer maybe Carp and Spears + #28. Spears, at 6'4 and 305, could easily move inside for us and end in a 3-4 situation.
Carp could easily play OLB and provide depth at ILB for us too.
Whatever

I think that if(god forbid)we do get Carpenter involved in the Chad trade, than we definately need to force Bobby to renegotiate his contract. Since we are probably going to wait until we see who's available when Dallas picks, that makes getting Carpenter unlikely, since there won't be time to renegotiate him and we won't have cap room. Let's face it guys,Carpenter was great with the Buckeyes, but he's a 3rd string LB for Dallas making 1st round $. We'd be stupid to trade for him when he'll probably get cut after June 1,anyway. Bobby's just like Katzenmoyer. He was fine in college when they told him to either blitz the QB or just run to the ball, but when he got in the pros and had to actually play a system,he couldn't cut it.
