Does this man stand a chance in the Republican primaries of 2012 assuming that Obama wins the 2008 election?

No. Unless a law is passed saying someone born outside the U.S. can be President.

Your current nominee was born outside the US. :ninja:

Man, I sure wish he could but yeah, pretty sure that issue was already brought up leading up to this campaign and there is no chance with current law as he is not American born.

But he was born as an American citizen....you have to be American born, not born in America.

Technically, he wasn't. Technically, he was born on U.S. soil. It just happened to be soil surrounded by another country.

That was us punching your sarcasm in the nuts, kicking in the gut while its rolling around on the ground gasping for air, stomping on its fingers, a kick to the groin, chopping its head off, drinking the blood from its twitching corpse, and burying it in the ground!

I hope so, because he will bring our military costs down - I've seen the video evidence (Commando, Predator, etc.), this guy truly is an "Army of One".

Ah-nold would completey pwn Obama,or anybody else the Dems could throw at him. He's the REPUBLICAN governer of California, one of the most liberal states in the US. If he can beat the Dems there,he can beat them anywhere and everywhere. Besides which, the Bible belt turnout would be ridiculous. He whipped Satan's xss in "End of Days!" Can you imagine the debates?

In all seriousness, there was talk in Congress a while back about amending the "born in the US" requirement to allow Arnold to run,but as the Dems have gained seats,it has obviously died,as they fear the wrath of the Governator. About the only chance we have of seeing Arnold as president now is for him to go all "venetian head" from "Total Recall" and pop out of John McCain during his acceptance speach.

:rotf: but ah-nold is considered hypergreen environmentalist for a republican...he is basically an independent dude running as a republican.

Arnold is a closet dem based on everything I know about his politics, which admittedly is very little.
I think there was alot of talk about allowing him to run and in some cases, such as this one,I don't think it would be that bad of an idea.
He is America in some ways. His movies, his cars, his marriage, they all represent much of America.I say this not as sarcasm either.Whats wrong with Arnold running for president? Its not like we don't know him and he secretly works for the secret Austrian government attempting to overthrow the United States.
His dad supposedly had ties to the Nazis, though.

What do you think McCain is? Republican psycho-beotch Anne Coultier said SHE WOULD CAMPAIGN FOR HILLARY OVER MCCAIN!

McCain is regarded as a hardcore troublemaker in the Republican party, and at this point,I think an independent/trouble making Republican is the only one with a shot.

This is what I'm sayin'.this is a feel good story and practically a shue in should he somehow obtain the nomination."Immigrant makes good in America".I can see the wheel a rollin' from the propaganda machine already.Honestly, I believe he should have a chance to run.

There's a difference. Prescott Bush did business with Germany (allegedly). Arnold's dad WAS a Nazi. It's not really something he disputes either.

His stance on stem cell research does confuse me:
California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a strong supporter of stem cell research. That is, until, this past weekend. "Maria and I were watching some of my movies," said Schwarzenegger, "and we started watching 'The 6th Day'. That really got me thinking. Here I am watching myself play a character who's life has been stolen from him by his own clone, and now this idea just scares the crap out of me. But then I think, 'Don't be a girlyman, Arnold, if you had a clone that tried to steal your identity, I'm sure you could just beat him up.' But then I thought, 'Wait a minute, if I were my clone, I wouldn't just be some girlyman that I would simply be able to beat up. If I were my clone, I would be pretty good match for myself.' So now I just don't know what to think about stem cell research, because what if I get cloned?!"

No body reads the constitution these days.
http://jakob.montrasio.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/200706220853.jpg
Besides your "piece of paper" says that:
"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
Ah-nold has held U.S. citizenship since becoming naturalized in 1983.

Re-read that Article again:
or a Citizen of the United States at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution
I'm pretty sure Arnold became a citizen after the Constitution was adopted.

Along those same lines we could interpret the statement to say that "no person except a natural born Citizen,...at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President..." But then no one would be eligible for president...

Due to this grammatical loophole in the constitution, Ah-nold is eligible to be president.
Besides he is also a "natural born" citizen. How can you be "unnaturally born"??

First off, we'd have to look to see if that comma is in the original documents.
Furthermore, I thought I remember there being a Supreme Court case that decide this or clarified this to mean only "natural born" citizens could be president. I could be wrong, as shocking as that sounds.
If Arnold wants to be Pres, though, and there's no SC ruling, I'm sure he'll take it to the Supreme Court and get one, once and for all.
