Apparently she's finally excepted the fact that she's lost the nomination. Her plans are to announce her departure in New York... possible as early as next week.

Good move. Old ladies in FL were getting really worked up to protest the rules and support Clinton. It was about to get ugly.

Do you honestly think she will?
Harold Ickes said that she was ready to take it to the Credentials Committee in Denver. It didn't sound like her camp was ready to throw in the towel.

She's been singing moon, spoon, "June" for quite awhile. I guess now she can say she was right, the nomination wasn't decided until June. Brilliant!

This is basically how the race has been for the past two months. (For those without a brain... the brown pieces represent Obama, white are Clinton's ;) )

But you still make an interesting point, up until the last line ;)

I didn't attend church do to illness this weekend - does that make me of not pure body and mind? There is, after all, eucharist by desire...
Besides, lest we forget, Obama isn't the only presidential candidate to disassociate himself with a controversial pastor in the past month.

I'm sure you're still on track. I attend a non-denominational church now so I don't get the Eucharist anymore (hope that isn't a prereq)
Havent heard anything about McCain doing the same thing? You're probably more in the political loop then I am. Where were you leaning with that? I'd def be interested in reading about it.

I misspoke in my prior post (and have edited to make it more correct). But, in the end, McCain long sought the endorsement of Hagee, and then these controversial things came out, and he dropped him immediately. I had no problem with that, even if it was merely a political move.
As far as Obama goes, he's stated on several occasions that there is much more to Rev. Wright than what has been portrayed by the media - and while he disagreed with the things the media did show about him, there were other things about him and that is why he originally stuck with him. As Wright continued to become more outspoken, though, Obama eventually did drop him - both for himself (partially political) and to save his church from being under the focus of a political campaign. I also had no problem with that.
In the end, people are making way too much out of some of the people (especially religious people) that all the candidates are associated with, and not enough of their stances on the issues - the sad reality created by our political system becoming more focused on creating negative attention on the opponent than garnering positive attention on oneself.

Well, it was nice to see Democrats attacking each other while it lasted.
If this is true (about Clinton withdrawing), I guess it's time to strap on the hard hat and dumbwaiters. A lot of crap is about to fly (maybe not from the candidates themselves, but their supporters on the other hand ...).

Well, within the Democratic party, though. Now, the Republicans get to throw some crap (more evidence we came from monkeys? ;) I kid, I kid. :p)

Thanks for the link..very interesting. American politics is a dirty game there is no question about it. You are completely right - it's all about making your opponent look as inferior to you as possible (instead of building youself up) no matter how far you have to dig in that dirt and search through that closet. <_<
