Trent Green is offically a Miami Dolphin. The Chiefs traded Green for a 5th round pick that could turn into a 4th round pick depending on how much Green plays.

Green still has to pass a physical but the deal is done finally. I'm happy to see Green get a shot at starting elsewhere. He is one of the NFL's good guys...

It's about time that this happened. I remember a week or two ago NFL Live showed an interview that said the Chiefs wanted a 4th and the Dolphins offered a 6th. Green said that they needed to find an in-between. I looked over at my girlfriend and said "Obviously that means a 5th, right?"
I can't believe it took this long to get the trade done.

Miami will find a way to mess up any situation. Speaking up mess ups, Culpepper did say that if Miami signed Green that he was ask to be released from his contract, so he can go **** it up elsewhere...

Where will Culpepper wind up? Can he start anywhere else? Oakland will be Russell's team so he'd only start at most a year before the reigns are given to Russell. I don't think he wants to be a mentor to someone who's going to take his job. So that would also rule out Cleveland. I think he's going to have to accept a back-up position.

Yea I read an article by Pasquarelli stating the Chiefs are going to give Croyle every opportunity to win the starting position. Croyle said a few days ago he is confident he would win the starting position & that he feels the Chiefs are becoming his team.
My questions is...Is Croyle really all that? I thought he was one of those QBs destined to be a back up. Guess I was wrong.

Croyle is decent but still has some work to do. Croyle was one of the QBs drafted last year that was supposed to become a starter a few years down the road, but he's getting the starting job after only one year. This is a lot like Tavaris Jackson in Minnesota. He was supposed to be groomed for a couple of years and then become the starter, but it looks like he's going to be the starter this year.

I agree the draft really hurt Daunte, he could have been traded to Oakland, and then Oakland could have drafted Calvin Johnson and then possibly a John Beck, Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards in the 2nd or 3rd round.
He is goign to have to stick with a back-up role, unless he plays like Peyton Manning and the starting QB plays like Ryan Leaf, I dont see him starting. Here are some possible options he could go to
Minnisota (Tavarious Jackson? Can you trust him)
Green Bay (Aaron Rodgers, is he really you're future?)
Chicago (If Rex Grossman, plays horrible then let Brian Griese/Daunte fight it)
Jacksonville (If Byron is not the future, neither is David, Culpepper could work)
Washington (Mark Brunell is getting old, and Jason Campbell is unproven)

Other than that I really dont see where he could go.

Culpepper would be well served to be the Phins #2 this season and play his butt off when he gets the chance. That way he could find a new home next year. No way he goes back to Minnesota, I think there were too many bridges burnt in that deal but you never know in the NFL. ATL could wind up with Harrington as their starter for a time this season with the Vick Saga up in the air so he could be an option there, but he is going to have to show that he is 100% in the preseason. I think he could be a top guy again in the right situation but where that is is a huge ?

I see a potential need for QB with Minnesota, Atlanta(thanks to the dog fighting ordeal), and maybe even Houston(given Shaub doesn't pan out or gets killed when the Oline folds). But there is a lot of baggage attached to each scenerio. It should be intersting to see how things pan out.

ESPN has confirmed that the Dolphins have told Daunte that they will attempt to trade him.
Having said that, there are a few venues that would welcome him, but it all depends on the Dolphins asking price.
Tampa Bay - Chris Simms is inconsistent, Jeff Garcia isn't a long term solution and Gruden is stockpiling QB options.
Buffalo - JP Losman still has not proven to be the long term solution
Dallas - Insurance for Romo that ISN'T Brad Johnson
Jacksonville - the Leftwich experiment could end this season, and if so the starter isn't on that roster
Atlanta - the backup is Joey Harrington.....if Vick goes away, a lot of people will be looking for season ticket refunds.
Baltimore - Bilick came from Minnesota, and McNair is old, Boller isn't anything but a backup and you don't know what you have with Troy Smith.
Chicago - Rex Grossman might not be the solution, he has about another year to turn it around and then public outcry might cause them to cut him loose.

Another possibility is Washington who has been a bit silent this offseasn, although I think they're going to roll with Jason Campbell long term, as he did show some aptitude last year.
