Assuming he gets the opportunity to control his own destiny via his release from the Dolphins (which seems like the most likely scenario to me), Culpepper seems likely to go somewhere that he believes he can at least eventually start. So, with that in mind....
Green Bay? I don't think so. For all his talk, Favre acts like he could be around another 10 years. He doesn't miss any starts either.
St Louis? An attractive option with their offensive weapons, but Bulger is entrenched in the starting role.
Houston? Hard to imagine him having a legitimate chance to compete with a QB they just traded their former franchise QB for.
Jacksonville? They already have 2 potential starting QBs. That's more than enough headaches for them in what should be a very important season for the franchise.
New York Jets? Pennington's resurgence would make the starting lineup very difficult for Culpepper to crack, but the injury history of their #1 could provide an opportunity.
Others? Oddly enough, one of the teams that could use him the most would be Minnesota. Unproven Tavarius Jackson becomes the starter with nothing in the way of a safety net behind him. There's a lot of baggage on both sides of that relationship, but it would be a logical move. Another logical suitor would be Baltimore. Boller has no more than one more year there and McNair's days are numbered as well even if he stays healthy. For a team as strong as they are right now, they may feel more comfortable with Culpepper prepared to step in for the former league MVP. Atlanta could be open to bringing in Culpepper as insurance against Michael Vick's legal issues and/or continued under-achieving if the team is not sold on or does not want to tailor their offense to Joey Harrington.
Other longshots would include Buffalo and Detroit. The Bills really seem determined to keep Losman in place and I can't see the Lions putting Culpepper in place of Kitna due to his fine numbers last year with the Lions and his leadership.

While I agree Minn. would make sense for reasons you list, the way that relationship ended I can't see it happening...

I agree with you but when you read the article it makes you think differently. I though Green Bay cause we all hope farve hangs it up soon, but also St. Louis cause Bulger is injury prone and there is no steady back-up but Gus.

I agree that Minnesota souds like best bet for him but we know that wont happen again so im thinking St.Louis or maybe even Chicago considering Rex Grossman stinks.

It makes sense to go to either the Jags or the Cheifs. The Chiefs could let him sit behind Huard and get healthy while learning the system for a year. The Jags see Leftwich s only slightly better than Gerrard(who has trade value after playing decent last year) . Yet, I still don't believe that Del Rio is completely sold on Byron, but Culpepper could take that job (possibly) when he is fully healthy and again pick up the system during that span. The Jags do have a third QB who is signeds for one more year and at a minimum salary. Culpepper has a lot of football left if he can recover. How mobil he will be is the biggest concern, because that was his x-factor when a defense confused him. Who knows he may never start again, but he will get picked up and given a chance to compete.
On a side note, if the Chiefs got him and he started Miami would have given up a draft pick for nothing.

At this point I think he has the greatest chance of landing in either Detriot or Jacksonville.
Kitna had a decent year yardage wise, but not so great TD wise. Of course, keep in mind that Detriot has devoted several first round picks to WRs in the recent years, and pass happy Mike Martz as an offensive coordinator, which no doubt contributed to the large pass yardage. The Lions might take Culpepper just to see where he is at in his rehab, as well as keep a decent experienced backup position in case Kitna got hurt.
Garrard and Leftwich have bounced back and forth at the starter position. Each has his special area expertise, but Culpepper in his prime had the best of both. If he can return to form, the Jags could really give Indy a run for its money and maybe make the playoffs. Mike Tice, Culpepper's former head coach(Minn.), is an assistant head coach/offense, and a supporter of Dante.
These are the two most likely options in my opinion, but I don't see him starting any time soon, no matter where he goes.

I believe that Del Rio also coached for the vikings as a LB coach didn't he?

I believe he played LB for the Vikes but I don't recall him coaching the linebackers there. He did however coach the LBs in Baltimore for a while. They won Super Bowl XXXV while he was coaching there.

I am going to go with the Vikings, seeing as how they need veteran leadership @ QB. Neither Tavaris Jackson or Brooks Bollinger appears to be ready to start for the Vikings.

Being maybe the closest thing we have to a Vikings expert on this site due to my sheer proximity to the franchise ([+o(]), I have to say that Jackson provided some excitement for the local fans in his limited action last year and I'm certain they would be quite disappointed if he didn't get a chance to prove himself this season. The front office seems to feel the same way, although that shouldn't necessarily rule out a worthy veteran backup that could step in if they have a shot at a playoff run late and Tavarius is struggling. While Culpepper is logical for this scenario, the way he left the Vikes makes that unlikely (but we've seen stranger things in sports).
As for the Jags, while Del Rio did, in fact, play for the Vikes for a while, he did not coach them and was not with the organization when Culpepper was there. About the only connection I could make would be that Del Rio was a teammate of Mike Tice, who was a coach of the Vikes for Culpepper's entire tenure there.

I think that the fact Dante is his own agent probably strengthens the arguement that he is unlikely to return to Minnesota. He probably has a more intimate relationship with the owners and coaches of his teams than most players. Agents can take out some of the ugly financial and contract disputes and allow for a player to focus on the sport. That's not to say they don't ever have problems, but burnt bridges are probably more difficult to look past for someone who represents himself.

Since Culpepper is angry at the Dolphins, I think he's going to look for a way to stick it right back at them. I believe that he's going to make an attempt to get with the Chiefs, which probably won't work because they love Huard and it's Croyle's team in the future. I don't think he'll go to Detroit because Martz likes Kitna and they want him to groom Stanton for a year or two.
Daunte is probably going to have to settle for a back-up role right now.

Falcons anyone?
The way things are going atlanta might really need the insurance.

I was going to say that they run a west coast offense, but with that new coach, I'm not sure what they'll be running. It could be a fit, but I think Daunte will want to start, so if he gets a release, he'll look for a weak QB position.
I heard on NFL live today that there will be a grievance filed on the behalf of Culpepper against the Dolphins.
