"wait until next year!"

i love this line... im a proud user of it for years now.... i hold a card to prove it. but, in what the past has shown, its just getting old, over used, and basically sad... now there's nothing wrong with being optimistic, i find myself making all types of pre-season bets about my confidence in what the bengals can do. but at the end of the year, $50 bucks poorer, my head scarmbles to wonder why this wasn't our year.

the bengals will start off with another 2-6 first half and somehow pull out 5 or MAYBE even 6 wins to end the season. there we will sit as fans, 7-9, 8-8, coming off a nice christmas holiday, feeling optimistic, excited what could be, happy about the 1 or 2 average players we pick up through free agency (that we've paid way too much for), disecting and feeling good about the draft, read up on how successfull the players and coaches say camp is going, see good things in preseason (or use the excuse that it's just preseason), start up the 2009 season, and begin to become miserable all over again.

CHANGE. you hear it all the time these days. with the presidential election approaching, everyones promising CHANGE. but what CHANGE will be granted to the bengals and the bengaldom fan base... probably.... nothing. the amount of talent on this team is probably in the top 10 of the league, but using that talent and putting it all together is in the bottom 10 of the league and the record, leadership, and overall pride proves this.

Marvin will giggle, tell Lapham that we're improving, "building", and coming together, but we all know that he's in the film room, taking down asprin, and wondering wtf did i get myself into..? "things are coming together"...? , these are lines i want to hear in july, not september/october!!!

ohhh and Bobby Brat. that idiot of a neighbor that you wish would move, but is always there. this guy will decide to run run throw and fail. see that this team can't do this, but just to spite everyone, do it again. and just when you think, WOW, OK, this guys got it together these past few drives. he'll fall down hit his head again and decide to go back to what DOES'NT work. it's depressing. i've never seen anything like this before. conservative, conserative, conservative... predicatable, predictable, predictable. If the fans see what's going to happen, wouldn't you think an opposing NFL defense will?

face it, the D still looks bad. not terrible like past years, but still bad. A LOT of work needs to be done. zimmers fault? no. he was given these players and is waiting to get rid of the majority of them. give him time to build his defense from his image and i think we'll see improvement. in timmmme though.

so.. "wait until next year!"...? ughhh.... not for this guy, not this time. i'm just too tired, too sore, and too hurt from all the beatings this team has taken on the field, and more so off of it. CHANGE is what this team needs. But CHANGE is not something mike brownie boy is custom to.

my CHANGE though......
MARVIN- GONE
BRAT- DEF GONE!
ZIMMER- STAY and do what I think you can do.
MIKE BROWN- use all the money you have and make some big moves in free agency.
ME- somehow still find a way to love the bengals. i always seem to

but comparing the bengals to the bush administration, this team/country does need it.
