Coming into the season people said it was my Steelers...but let's look at it.

We have 14 games in common with 2 games flexing, depending upon how you finished the year before.

The Steelers have the Pats and Chargers - and they're looking beatable right now.

The Browns have the Bills (4-0) and the Broncos (3-1).

Ouch.

Ouch.also...we play the browns twice and they gotta play us. two games that makes our schedule weaker than theirs.

I've said it since the schedule came out: pre-season strength of schedule calculations are unreliable. The past 10 or so teams to start out the season with what was thought to be the toughest strenth of schedule (based on the previous years' records) actually usually ended up in the middle of the pack because of the inevitable variation that occurs due to the NFL's parity. The Browns, Bengals, Patriots, Chargers, and maybe even the Colts look a lot more vulnerable than was thought by most at the beginning of the season.

The Steelers pull of a winning season and win the division, I am looking forward to the playoffs, with our schedule I would say one of our games is going to be against one of the super bowl teams for this year. We get to the playoffs, we will have already walked through the fire and the super bowl could be a repeat of Pitt vs Dallas or Pitt vs Giants.

It could happen and man would that be fun!

And you know the Bengals could go 12-0 and make a run for the SB...

And that is just as likely to happen as the Steelers going to the Super Bowl . Homerism is one thing but Stooler fan takes it to a whole other level.

Hey, I won't argue with anyone who says that a Steelers SB run this year is highly unlikely, but I'd be very interested to hear why you think it is "just as likely" that the Bengals will do it.

The oddsmakers (http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/) disagree.

Current Odds of winning the AFC Championship (As of September 30, 2008):

Pittsburgh 6:1
Cincinnati 150:1

Lol, at those odds I'd be willing to put 5 bucks on the Bengals. :rotf:

Good point. But I really think that the AFC is much more wide open this year than it's been in some time. I don't really think there's any team who is stepping up to be the dominant favorite. I already mentioned that I think the perennial favorites are down this year, and I think both Buffalo and Tennessee need to beat some tougher teams before they get anointed.

In any case, this should be an interesting year ...

I'm sure you meant to say the Browns have no shot at the SB.

The Steelers are the team that's 3-1 and were the first to win it all from the #6 spot.

The Browns were the team to start 1-3 and their only win was against the Bengals.

I was refering to steelman who eluded to the Steelers going to and winning the S.B. and never came close to saying anything about the Browns . Maybe just a misunderstanding hope that clears it up.

first of mr genius of reading comprehension I said IF not that they were going to do it, and the chances of the bengals going 12-0 is as likely as the sky falling. I do not expect to see the Steelers in the Super Bowl, unless they can pull of a division title. Right now, I see the Ravens as our competition, browns and bengals are nothing to worry about.

You need to get the tears out of your eyes over all your wrong suppositions regarding this season and just man up to the fact that the bengals and the browns, your two favorite teams are the laughing stock of the entire league.

BTW I know that alot of Steeler fans have two favorites ( one being their first choice and second obviously the Steelers ) but most of us have only one .

Stupid? No your the idiot who thinks that because the browns beat the bengals their improving? Now that is stupid. You'll be seating at 1-14 and thinking you still got a shot at the playoffs, because of all those games you almost won.

Not me. I grew up in Pennsylvania and my family is mixed between Eagles and Steelers. If I'd stray from that to another team, I'd be the black sheep. Steelers til I die.

Well I was born in 1959 and no matter where I have been in the world, I have never had a second team, it has always been steelers only.
