View Full Version : Lets say the draft ends up like this...
We pick at #7 overall.
Michael Oher
Andre Smith
Sam Bradford
Matt Stafford
Brian Orakpo
Michael Crabtree
Are all gone, who do we take and why?:hmm:
I would say Aaron Curry, he is big, fast, and allways seems to be arownd the ball.

First off, that woud make me cry.
With all of them gone I actually think trading back would be ok.
Maybe to about 19-25? Take Mack, get a 2nd 2nd round pick and use it on OL.

Eugene Monroe because he's considered near the top with Oher and Smith...
or Aaron Curry because he's a freaking beast and I wouldn't mind taking a look at LT Jamon Meridith from South Carolina in the 3rd

Who would you take if we dont trade back?
Curry could become a force on our Dffence.
Rivers-Jones-Curry would be a good LBing core and with 2 young OLBs.
Just saying that we dont make moves on draft day normally.

We normally dont but I dont want to take another LB that high. Rivers, Johnson, and Dhani
have done solid this year. And a possible FA pickup. I just need OL. Andrews is now gone.
We NEED OL.

Easily Monroe. He's my #2 player on my board for the Bengals, after Oher.

Eugene Monroe T Virginia. There are some that have him rated over Andre Smith, there are some concerns with Smith's weight.

I can't get the image of Smith being chucked to the ground by a LBer out of my head. I think it was the SEC Championship game? Possibly the one before. I'm just not a big fan of him. I'd much prefer Oher or Monroe.

i no it be impossisble but it still fun to talk about we get Brown C through free agentcy our center situation is now solved for years we trade our 1st rounder and chad johnson and pick in next years draft to the eagles for the 18th and 28th pick in the draft get the best LB availible Larinitus or Malaluga then Bennie Wells in the 2nd get Herman Johnson G or Phil Loadholt OT and Conner Barwin in the 3rd

So, say #6, Chad, and a 2010 4th for two first rounders? Ehh, sounds great, but value may not be there. Laurinaitis and Maualuga won't be the best LB's avaliable then. I'd be ok with Wells as long as we somehow got a LT via FA. Herman Johnson's a reach at our second round pick and so is Loadholt. I would love Barwin.

1. Monroe
2. M. Johnson DE
3. A.Curry
I would not be mad at any of them but I do not think we will be picking seventh.
But we will know for sure in a couple of days.

We didn't get Patrick Willis and Curry DEFINITELY is the best LB to come out since. The dude is an absolute beast and would be a tremendous upgrade over Dhani in the middle or Jeanty at SLB. We go best center in the second and best rb available in the 3rd and this is all pertaining to the status of one Levi Jones, because if he isn't up to par, then we'll either have to address it in the draft or FA.

If we picked 3rd and Curry was the choice, I couldn't really complain. I think he's a need and a very good player. I'd be real upset if we didn't go O-line in rd 2 and 3

I'd love to see a Rivers-Curry combination, but SLB is not necessarily our primary need.
Trade down to the mid 10's and pick Duke Robinson, a DE or maybe Maualuga. Or trade to the mid 20's and pick Mack, DE or maybe Lauranaitis.
But at this point the LB that I really want is Spikes. Why?? Well.....
Curry is for sure a top 10 pick. So if we want him, that wouldn't allow us to trade down(I know, I know, M. Brown most likely won't trade down). Plus he's a SLB and we have Jeanty and B.Johnson (who everybody likes) that can play SLB very well.
Spikes most likely be available in the 2nd. That will allow the Bengals to pick somebody else in the 1st rd: Oline or a DE.
Spikes will be as good, if not better, than both MLB ranked ahead of him: Lauranaitis and Maualuga. He has the leadership, experience and skills to become a pro bowl caliber MLB in the NFL.
Who would you rather have: a 1st rd lineman ( OL or DL) and Spikes or Curry and a 2nd rd lineman(OL or DL)??
Now, if they sign a solid experienced FA OT, then I would absolutely pick Curry in the first and a DE ( maybe Selvie) in the 2nd.
