Chris Benoit along with his wife and son were found dead in their new Atlanta home. He was 40. This is a HUGE blow for wrestling fans everywhere. He is, was and forever will be one, of the absolute best.

My second cousin is an officer with GBI (Georgia Bureau ofInvestigations) and what he's heard in his circle is that ChirsBenoit's wife killed their son Daniel, called Chris and told him torush home because of an emergency which is why he missed last Sunday'sVengeance PPV. Upon arriving home Benoit killed his wife in a rage forthe death of his son and then killed himself Monday morning. His wife'sbody was found in the master bedroom, strangled with the cord from analarm clock. The son's body was found in his room appearantlysuffocated with a garbage bag. Chris then wrote a suicide noteexplaining what had happened, apologized to his family, his otherchildren (from a seperate relationship), and his fans. Benoit was found in his weightroom, not the foyer. Most news outlets are saying that he killed both his son and wife. However, I find that VERY hard to believe, and will refuse to believe it until I see hardcore proof. Until then, I can only hope that wherever they are, they have found peace.

I agree. Benoit was a big family guy so I find it very hard to believe that he'd kill his wife and son. I'm going to miss watching him wrestle.

- Lt. Pope: WWE called police officials at 2:30PM on Monday over concern for Benoit’s well being. Police found all three bodies in the home. “Double Homicide Suicide” is the official ruling.

- It appears Benoit killed his wife on Friday, his son shortly after, and likely hanged himself either late Saturday night or early Sunday.

- No suicide note was left behind.

- Asphyxiation is the official ruling for Benoit’s wife and son deaths.

- Benoit was previously arrested for a DUI.

- A lot of prescription medication was found in the home, legal prescriptions.

- Police found anabolic steroids in the home.

- No comment from police regarding a possible motivation.

- He killed himself several hours, but no more than a day, after killing son Daniel.

- Police is unaware of prior domestic violence.

- District Attorney Scott Ballard stated that a Bible was placed near each murder victim.

- Benoit bond Nancy’s hands and feet and she was wrapped in a towel. Blood was found near Nancy’s body.

- In 2003, a temporary restraining order was sought but later dropped.

- Benoit made no attempt to hide the bodies.

- The DA himself has not heard from WWE.

- Daniel was found in an upstairs bedroom. Benoit’s wife was also found in an upstairs family room, and Benoit hung himself in the weight room in the basement.

- The toxicology reports are still pending. It will probably take more than two weeks for the reports to be finished.

- Benoit apparently called WWE stating that Daniel was coughing up blood, thus likely the “personal reasons” for missing weekend house shows.



So the final thing is, he killed both of them and then killed himself.
I had so much respect for this guy as a wrestler, I just threw away his Hard Knocks DVD, I am so disgusted with this.

There was a statment that there were marks on Daniel's arms, possibly syringe marks so that BOTH of his parents could give him HGH, because he was undersized.
There was a text message saying that Daniel and Nancy were sick, sent by Chris. Something just really doesn't add up to me, I don't know what is going on right now.

I know its hard to believe but, I mean the edivence has been said by the D.A. he came out and he released the info.

If, for the sake of argument, he is in fact guilty, I like to believe I am capable of sperating his professional from personal life. I can respect his talent and his ability, but respect him as a man, that would be lost.

If, for the sake of argument, he is in fact guilty, I like to believe I am capable of sperating his professional from personal life. I can respect his talent and his ability, but respect him as a man, that would be lost.

I agree, because I mean this guy night after night put his life out on the line for us the fans, and he would always make sure that once again us the fans would enjoy the time and to enjoy his matches.
Chris Benoit the character was amazing and a great person to root for.
as a man as it stands right now is horrible and I have zero respect for and I will never forgive him.
But looking at the man behind the character puts a huge dent into the way I look at his character will be different and disgraceful, its going to be hard to seperate the two knowing (if it is finally true) that he is a murderer.
Plus him and his wife giving the kid HGH is still disgusting.

I did some digging and found out it is a cause of mental retardation which is caused when the body is unable to make significant amounts of protein required for growth. This could be a plausible scenario for why he was giving him HGH.

Yeah, I've been making that comparison a lot lately.
I think Dave Meltzer said it best "it's like rooting for Rocky and then at the end of the movie you find out Rocky killed his wife and son."

Bizarre details continue to surface. It is now being reported that someone posted on wikipedia terminal from Stanford Connecticut (home of the WWE). The message stated the following:

"Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy."

The message was posted at 12:01am on Monday June 25th. So someone knew about the death before police did. I'm telling you this story gets weirder and weirder.
