Yes, I say "continue".
The more we discuss it, the moer likely people will be to hear it. It blows my mind that people are still not acknowledging Global Warming and it's affect on our enviornment.

I remember hearing a little thing called Global Cooling when I was growing up. Now, it's global warming. Frankly, I have a hard time believing in it.
I would need some hard evidence - which I've yet to see - to suggest that global warming is actually occuring.

If you want to discuss the effects of global climate change, then you will be discussing the changing of the weather and climate patterns more than moving towards a particular tempature.
The reason that the world we know has thrived for so long is directly related to the amount of species that have existed. There will always be species going extinct, but the world relies on the a large quantity of species that are able to handle the the changes that occur. THe more species there are the more species there are to evolve in the ever-changing world. For a complete description and explanation of this particular logic, I'd refer you to read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.
The amount of species that will be able to handle a 10 degree change in the world's climate is surprisingly small. As the climate changes, species will go extinct at a faster rate than the new ones will appear or older can evolve. Each species has a direct affect on the ecosystem, and mass extinctions can cause a huge change in the world we know. For example, the bees that pollinate and the plants the depend on those bees.
Has anyone read anything on the baffling disappearance of numerous bee species?

When I was a kid in high school some 35 years ago we were told that despite our best efforts the planet would be doomed to the effects of water and airborne pollution.
Then towards the end of the 90's we were told that everything that worked using computers would go bye-bye when the clock struck midnight 2000.
Global warming? I have my suspicions about the reality of it all.

As a Christian, I believe that is one of our many responsibilities to take care of this planet that God has given us. My biggest beef with global warming isn't so much whether it exists or not, but the lack of debate that's going on about the subject. Those that believe in it strongly are like religious zealots that attack anyone with serious questions. Not all, mind you, but a lot - especially those with access to the mass media.
If global warming was as threatening as it's often made out to be, I'd like to know how the conclusion that man has any control over it came about. Global temperatures or global weather patterns are only accurate when tracked over a lengthy amount of time. Well, how far back do "records" go that we can use that will help us accurately guage global patterns, etc.? Do we have thousands of years of reliable data to draw on? Or are most of our conclusions being reached through conjecture and hypotheses? These questions are just the tip of the iceberg (no pun intended). I have many more which I doubt will ever be answered in my lifetime.
I don't have a problem with people trying to make the world a better, more livable place, but I don't think you should force changes upon others without good reason.
