Ap Poll 9/30 New Number 1!

i was reading the AP College Poll, and LSU has overtook USC as the number 1 college in College Football.

South Florida who defeated then ranked number 5 West Virginia has found themselves as the Number 6 in the poll.

University of Kentucky (GO BIG BLUE!) is now ranked number 8 on the poll while

Cincinnati is ranked 20th.


Ohio State is 4th.

I knew LSU would jump over USC after yesterday. This season is starting to be a real interesting one!!

It's crazy stuff like this last weekend that makes me think they shouldn't do polls until 4-5 weeks into the season. That and the fact that it messed up Auburn's chances of going to the title game a few years ago...

Ohio State is overrated, I don't hate OSU or anything, but any honest OSU fan would admit that they are a bit overrated. The most overrated team by far is Wisconsin, they really don't deserve to be in the top 15. South Florida's ranking is a bit questionable too, but thats a lot harder to argue about.

Wrong...I am a hug Buckeyes fan and not even close to a homer. But I think our D is what is giving us the high ranking. Sure, our offense is young and may make mistakes and is not in the same league as the LSU or USC offenses but we have some real good receivers and the QB is really coming along nice...making great reads and he seems to be settling in and getting comfortable.

I think it's the cupcake schedule and the OSU name. I mean, look at the top 25 to start the season...

Now, OSU has a tough schedule to end the season, but those first four games are ridiculously easy, and the blowouts make OSU look much better than they may or may not be. The middle few games are OK, but until they get to those last four, I will not think too highly of them.

Their are two bad things to this, though. A late loss almost effectively eliminates a team from a Bowl championship game, and an easier schedule means an easier time getting into the championship game.

Which is why the BCS needs to adopt a 16- or 12-team playoff system...

Being a OSU fan, #4 is to high for them. #8 is to high for Kentucky. Kentucky now has there hands full with USC, LSU, Flordia and Georgia.

As a UC fan, I don't even really like OSU, just root for them occasionally since they are from Ohio, and I don't think they are overrated, in fact I think they should be ranked over Cal for sure, and maybe over LSU. Just my opinion. I think USF is where it should be also. They are undefeated and knocked off a very good West Virginia team.
