Has ANYONE heard anything regarding Time Warner Cable carrying the NFL Network? This is really ******* me off....I LOVE the NFL Network and I really wish they would just come to an agreement. There is NOTHING better than coming home on a Thursday, after a long day of work, and watching a Live NFL game. Does ANYONE have any information on this?

Man, you got my hopes up with the title of that post. I thought they finally got their head out of their bum and dedicated one of those 999 channels they have to the NFL Network. I mean GOLF CHANNEL?!?! WTF?!!??

I gave up on Time Warner a long time ago. Satellite TV is the way to go right now.

Do you have High Speed Internet through your Satellite provider? If so, with who and what is the quality? If Direct TV offers solid High Speed Internet then I will switch tonight.

The high speed internet is the hold up for me, but I also have my phone service through Time Warner. If they offered the NFL network, I have to believe they would generate a ridiculous amount of revenue in all of their coverage areas. I don't understand what the hold up is??

Time Warner wants to offer its subscribers the NFL Network but they want to do so in a way that would require the subscribers to purchase an additional sports package. The NFL wants Time Warner to offer it for "free" to all subscribers, which in return would increase each subscribers monthly bill by roughly .90 cents. This is the hold up. Time Warner refuses to charge everyone 90 additional cents a month, and the NFL refuses to allow Time Warner to sell the NFL Network in a sports package for an additional $4.00-8.00 a month.
It really is ridiculous....I really could care less, I will pay .90 cents to 10 bucks extra each month to have this channel. I wish they would just offer it.

There are some older threads on this topic. I'm not sure if they're still around or not.
Of interest is that 1) Complaints about Time Warner were all over the place before/early on in the season. Then, 2) further into the season, it was revealed how much the NFL wanted for the "new games" package to carrying their channel and the opinions switched, that maybe Time Warner was "not so dumb" and was making their choice for a reason.
The NKY cable provider (can't remember who) does carry the NFL Network, but not the games. Time Warner is more than willing to carry the channel (and the games), but wants it as part of a "sports package" (which makes sense) and the NFL Network wants on the basic/normal tier of channels.
I'm a Bengals & NFL fan and I don't mind paying a little more for it. However, I'd wager a strong majority (and I can say this with some authority having worked directly for cable companies in the past, with plenty of face-to-face customer time) of Time Warner's customers would be in an uproar over further rate increases for a "channel they don't want."
Don't blame Time Warner for this and don't blame the NFL. They are both out for profit and have to manage their businesses appropriately. What I would suggest is companing to the NFL Network that you'd be willing to PAY TIME WARNER for an extra "Sports" tier if it included the NFL Network. If you're willing to pay for it, let them know and, at the same time, increase your chances of Time Warner dealing with them in fairness to all their customers.

90 frickin' cents....that's what holding this deal up. No customer is gonna miss 90 cents. This *****, I just switched back from Direct TV to Time Warner....had no choice...we moved and we can't get a signal at our new place. Man I miss the NFL Network bad....it was one of the only channels on my TV at all times. I have to believe it was one of the reasons I one my fantasy football league last year...you get info on that channel that you just can't get anywhere else...including NFL.com
I miss coming home from a hard days work and watching Total Access every night at 7pm. Plus all the other special programs they run.
Is there some way that us Bengal fans can contact Time Warner and express how much we'd love this channel to be added?

What difference does it make? You'll save more with the price break of haveing satlellite, then you will with a lousy five doallars that TW is giveing you. But to answer you question. no. Their is no satellite intrenet offerd from direct or dish. Their was Direct way, which everyone was confuseing as Direct Tv, which later turned into hughes net. Sat online is not recomeended. Downloads are fast as hell, but uploads are rediculously slow. Got to have my road runner. And i have to have my nfl sunday ticket! Liveing out of state, its the only way to watch at home! And of course NFL net is great all year long!

Yeah, it stinks not getting NFL channel anymore. We had DTV, but had to switch to TW. But as far as the games go, I watched them on my computer last year. I just downloaded a program, and they streamed the games that I wanted. It was pretty cool, actually.

I have had DirecTV since I moved to Florida, and I love it. They do offer high speed internet by satelite, but I don't know the quality or speed as I have DSL through my phone provider. It does require a separate dish for internet service.
And if you have an HDTV, DirecTV is the way to go. They don't have the most HD channels now, but come September they will be adding several more, and they have more HD capacity now than anyone, they just need to get contracts in place.

SopCast or TVU Player
I have both. SopCast is faster, but the TVU has a bit better quality. Either way, you can view the games on the NFL Network. I love it.

Looks like I need to contact Time Warner and tell them I can't afford Roadrunner anymore (which really isn't far from the truth!) Those bastards jacked up my cable/RR/phone package by 10% earlier this year!!

What is TW going to do about the Big Ten Network? They can't give in to the Big 10 network but not the NFL network. The Big 10 network is even more expensive than the NFL network. If TW decides not to carry either, they will lose a large portion of their subscribers. I am sick and tired of TW not giving their customers what the want.

Honestly, with the way TW is doing things, I cannot understand why anyone who is a sports fan, and is in a position where they CAN have DirecTV (understanding that many apartment complexes don't allow it) doesn't. It really is the best thing out there. And no, I don't work for DirecTV. [:D]

Last I heard they have not. I think they are at an impasse. The question now is if TW is going to pick up the Big Ten Network or not.Call 1-800-DirecTV and mention my name. [:)]
