I saw Boekman at the spring game and he looked very competent. Besides, no one on that team, other than a coach, knows the defense as well as he does. He's been in that system for 4 years already.

Boekman without a doubt!! He has some in game experience, knows the system (although they will have to change the offense away from the Troy Smith style run and gun to the more pure passer style)
I think he will be a very good QB for us. I know people are comparing him to Zwick butI don't like the comparison. Todd doesn't have the worry of having another solid qb looking over his shoulder right now. I still think Zwick could have been a great QB for us but he never got a solid chance.

My vote go to Henton....Boekman is TERRIBLE
in HS his HS and my HS were rivals...him and UD's quarterback Kevin Hoying (played for coldwater...my HS) both were in the same class and they both started as sophmores....kevin won all 3 games i believe and in the state chapminoship game set the record for passing yards in a game in a losing cause.
Todd Boekman was recruted more heavily by OUS because he was like 5 inches taller....Kevin going to be a senior at UD started some as a Froshman and here is some about him on the UD Flyers web site:
AT DAYTON: Hoyng was named the 2005 White-Allen Most Valuable Player award winner after setting the UD school record in 2005 for total offense in a season with 2,547 yards. Besides completing 59.1% (114 of 193) of his passes for 1,989 yards and 14 TD's, Hoyng also led the Flyers in rushing (558 yards, 114 attempts, 4.9 avg., 7 TD's). Hoyng was seventh in NCAA I-AA in passing efficiency (164.39). He was named Second Team All-PFL in 2005 as well as First Team Academic All-PFL. In 2004, Hoyng was UD's second-leading rusher (322 yards, 68 attempts, 4.7 avg., 3 TD's) and completed 53.1% of his passes (34 of 64) for 504 yards, three touchdowns and just two interceptions. He was a two-time member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll. PERSONAL: Son of Tim and Kathy Hoyng...Born on March 27, 1984...Majoring in Education...Hoyng was captain of both the football and basketball teams at Coldwater. As a footballer, he was league MVP two years, first team offense two years and second team defense two years. He was Northwest Ohio Offensive Player of the Year and Dayton Area Division III/IV Offensive Player of the Year. He was a three-year letterman in basketball. He was Academic All-Ohio and the Lima News Student-Athlete of the Year as a senior.

Is he related to Bobby?
In any case Boekman is a much different QB than he was in HS. I watched him in the spring game, and in relief of Troy Smith last year, and he seemed like a serviceable QB. I'm not sure he'll be the best we've ever had, but I think if you give him a shot, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Besides, he studied under the most proficient passer the Big Ten has ever had. That's got to help a little.

I think I've heard people being shocked that they didn't go after him. Although, I must admit, I was never a Bobby Hoying fan. In my opinion, the only thing he had going for him was that he was an Ohio State player. I much prefer Joe Germaine.

Kevin could just do it all....it wouldn't really pretain much to OSU...but he was on the all ohio defencive team as a junior and senior i believe....1 of the most athletic kids i have ever seen
alot of time we would spred 5 wide because he was like QB and RB in 1

Yeah, but to play devil's advocate, remember Steve Bellisari? He could run and throw, and he was HORRIBLE.

Perhaps. You'll forgive me for hoping you're wrong though ha ha ha.
Incidentally, did y'all hear that OSU is still in the running for Terrelle Pryor, the 6'6 QB from PA?
I heard that kid is better than Vince Young when Young was his age.
Here are the schools he is consdering...
<LI class=considering>Miami-FL * <LI class=considering>Michigan * <LI class=considering>Notre Dame * <LI class=considering>Ohio State * <LI class=considering>Penn State * <LI class=considering>Pittsburgh * <LI class=considering>Rutgers * <LI class=considering>West Virginia *

Now where do you come up with this information that Boekman is Terrible??? Oh, I know...you have no clue and for some reason seem to be on love with Hoying. Todd looked very sharp last year when he came in. Seemed poised and made some great decisions.

Boeckman certainly was the best of the three in the spring game. I think the chart will be.
Boeckman
Schoenhoft
Henton
The freshman will be redshirted. Of course it might be a moot point anyway because Tressel has a knack for making the backup the starter.
