It's hard to believe that we are approaching our fifth season on this message board. There have been plenty of highs and lows during the years, but isn't that what sports is all about? That's a part of what makes sports so special and bonds us together as sports fans. It's that common element that brings each and every one of us together here on this site.
Today, we introduce a new feature to this board celebrating what makes this online community so great: our members. There are a wealth of outstanding individuals who contribute to this site regularly - some, daily. We have chosen to recognize some of the best of that group by honoring them in our very own Hall of Fame.
Therefore, in appreciation of their continued contributions to this message board, we are privileged to introduce to you the members of the Bengals.com Message Board Hall of Fame.

We would also like to honor a few people with the ED. Award. For those who were here even before the Message Board opened, there was a place on Bengals.com where fans could email in their thoughts about the team. This place was called Jungle Noise, and the mystery man who ran that portion went by the name ED.
He was the one who kept the place going and made sure the content stayed up to date as well as within good taste. ED. was also responsible for hand-picking the first group of Admins to run the message board once it was known it was going online. The original group then met up with Bengals_Moderator at Paul Brown Stadium and together they came up with the blueprint for what is now know as the Bengals.com Message board. Without ED. none of this would of been possible, and with the hard work that Bengals_Moderator put in we now have the best NFL MB in the entire league.
Due to the hard work of all the ones who help run this site, we are proud to present the ED. Awards. This award will be given out each year along with the Hall of Fame enshrinements, and this award is one that recognizes those who keep this place running on a daily basis. Without their hard and tireless work there is no way we could have been as successful as we are today. So without further adieu, this year's recipients are the original Administrators group that helped get this site off the ground, and for all the others that were here at the beginning that aided in the success of these boards.
We present to you the 2009 ED. Award recipients

Wow. What can I say? This is the exact reason I post on here is to be recognized like this. :smirk: Obviously, I'm kidding.
Though this is "just" a message board, I do feel honored to be recognized in this unique way. It's weird to realize that it was almost 4 years ago when this board was created and I was almost here from the very beginning (missed it by a couple weeks).
There've been some memorable posters along the way (I particularly miss BGS and all her posting goodness) and I have always enjoyed coming here to smack Steeler fans and the one Brown fan who shows up and love the debates I find myself in in the Politics and Religion subforum. I consider you all as friends (except you, HUR, you're just an acquaintance ).
Okay, this is starting to sound more like a retirement speech than an acceptance speech. So, let me finish with the words of a Christmas card a very dear friend sent me this past year (no, not you BJ, nor you eox): "Trophies are always nice; recognition is always welcome; but there is nothing, NOTHING, like being the best ever and rubbing everyone else's nose in it. Signed, the Roonies"
With that, I say, 'Thank you' to all who think I deserve this and a big [the letters following E and T] to the rest.
God bless you all.

Never did I imagine that I would have so many memorable moments on the internet. I could never get over the 100 post mark at any board, but this board was different. We could throw jabs at opposing fans and have them throw jabs back without any biased bannings, unlike any rival official boards.
I've made alot of friends here, and I would like to thank them, because I wouldn't be a first ballot HOFer:cool: without them. I'd like to thank my TTI business partner Bat for helping make my most memorable thread. I would like to thank all the Cobra members that helped me make this place a little bit off the wall...Zartan, Bludd, Private23, Destro, Overkill, Firefly, Crimson, bengaaaaals1688, Cobra Babe, Stormshadow, etc... Also, I'd like to say thanks to the ladies on this board I have become friends with...Traci70, Trina, Shannie, Ali, etc... Even though your picture posts became eye sores, I even thank you oasiswr. Can't forget the Steelers fans...Steely J, Bob Gee, Big Poppa G, Rick Corbin x 27, Son of Nation aka Bengal Fox, Cincytucky, and that one dude who acted like he was Snake Eyes. Also, thank you Mods for only letting me off with warnings so I could be here today to make this speech. Thank you for nominating me, Mods. Thank you to all these Bengals board members (http://boards.bengals.com/memberlist.php) too. I can't forget to shout out my sponsors, Snuggle Fabric Softener and Hasbro. Oops! Almost forgot to give thanks to Soundwave!
One last thank you to the 2005 Bengals for giving us a reason to talk smack. Time for them to back us up this year so we can talk smack once again.

Thank you to all the steeler fans who come to this board with big dreams and small brains. Stepping on you to get to the top has been my pleasure. I will wear my gold jacket with pride.

Thanks everyone, even though there were no "votes" cast, if it weren't for all the friends (and Philhos) and different personalities on here I'd hardly ever post. But obviously I love it here, so thank you all. I know it's been said before, and it'll be said many more times so once more won't hurt, this is the greatest Message Board in all the NFL. The freedom we have to say what we want, whether positive or negative, is unparalleled. And that's what sets us apart, the ability to say what we want, within reason, even if you're not a Bengal fan, keeps people coming back.
I consider myself, along with Joe, to be quite the realist, I call it like I see it. Some people hate it, some people love it, but at the end of the day you know you're getting honesty from me. I told Joe when I found out about this, that this is a very nice time to be a Bengal fan. And this realist is becoming quite the optimist as of late and I told him if this is a dream I don't want to wake up.
Everyone keep up the great posting, thanks again everyone, and of course, Who Dey

What a TRULY AMAZING HONOR....
I have been around for what seems like forever on here.... started off as RascalMJ (a little piece of trivia for ya). I have seen a number of changes, some "interesting" posters, and some epic threads. The Bengals.com message boards are truly one of the best boards I have ever been on and I have been on quite a few ranging from "deal" sites, BBQ sites, A/V sites, and just about every other Bengals message board there is. No matter where I spend my time... I always find myself HERE the most, it draws you in. There is a GREAT mix of posters that keep the conversation alive and the mods/admins do a great job of curbing the derailing attempts to keep the "flow".
I do consider this a great honor.... in all sincerity. I was involved in a "joke" thread awhile back that included a poll of "should TBT be a mod". I thought it was hilarious, so I acted like it was for real and started a pretend "campaign" to get elected to a position that didn't exist. It was fun though. Looking back, I think what if the name of the thread had been "should TBT be honored with the inaugural bengals.com message board HOF"..... I likely would have thought that would have been just as much of a stretch. I think I have the lowest post count out of my fellow honorees (all wonderfully deserving of the praise), and that is a great "pat on the back" as I try to provide some kind of "benefit" to what I post, and it is great to be recognized for doing so.
This board as offered me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people at draft day parties, training camps, PBS tours, tailgate parties, games and anything else we get together for. I have shared things on this board that I haven't really been able to talk to many about and I have received wonderful advice and consideration when posting important/emotional content. That is rare on a message board as usually people want to be funny and just joke around. I recently made a few threads on very important topics in my life (getting laid off, and planning a family), and I was overwhelmed by the support/advice/well wishes by the masses.
I could go on for quite awhile....... I truly enjoy writing and usually try to cut my posts short so more will read them and not give up half way through. ha
I will end with this...... a lot of people will tell you that message boards aren't "real" or they are a waste of time.... etc. And they certainly can be, but bengals.com message boards offer a wonderful place where you can get out of it what you put in it. I met some really great people that I would have never met otherwise. I went to a members wedding, sold some dart supplies to another member, had a surprisingly nice experience meeting a member that I didn't think I would like but really did, and I have a few meetings/parties planned in the near future and hope to have many, many more in the future. If that is not REAL, then I don't know what is.
It is an HONOR to receive this recognition and can only hope that I can help be a part in someones "story" about why they like it hear so much. I would like to give a HUGE thanks to everyone who has been so kind/generous along the way. Obviously i would not still be around in order to get this honor had it not been for a bunch of you rascals (I am trying my best not to name drop.... ya'll know who you are). Mods and Admins get a lot of praise on here (well deserved) and a lot of criticism as well, but they do a great job in providing the ATMOSPHERE that everyone loves so much and often take for granted. Yes, this is the OFFICIAL message boards of the Cincinnati Bengals, but there is a reason that people STAY here and POST here on a regular basis.
Thanks to ALL......
Still in a bit of shock about this honor,
TBT
