Article on the front page says the NFL will ban the wedge on special teams. What does that mean for the Bengals? Will return men be even more important and they have more lanes in which to run? Will it make any difference at all? Will it save injuries as they state?
Opinions?

The main reason Chad has bulked up to 200 lbs is so that he can be a gunner on the coverage teams.

He needs to be the wedge breaker.
Like John Madden said:
"Mommas, don't let your babies grow up to be wedge busters."

no wedge means it will be harder to return kickoffs. it was done to save injuries as we have seen many times in the past as the first man downfield will blow head first into the wedge to try and break it up to open up tackling possibilities for other players. however this person often times goes head first and hurts his neck causing severe injury. honestly this will probably be a good thing for the bengals since we havent had a good return man since tab (and before that even longer), and so everyone will start will the same awful field position we're used to.
The pussification of the NFL continues.

The NFL once again trying to make the game less exciting, stupid rule.

We have been in the top half of the league in kick returns for the last two seasons.

Yep.
Football is a violent game. Injuries happen.
What's next? No scrum after a fumble?

Precisely.
Wedgebusting is a violent part of the game, but it's exactly that. Part of the game.
Like to see an incident versus injury breakdown of wedgebusting alongside some other activities, like qb sacks, qb runs, and cut blocking.
Flag football, here we come!
What's next? No scrum after a fumble?
Scrums are very well organized or many injuries would occur. Rucking, and mauls, not so much...
