Bengals Looking Into Lottery Deal

Posted by Aaron Wilson on May 31, 2009, 1:37 p.m. EDT

The Cincinnati Bengals might be joining their NFL colleagues in the lottery business.

According to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals have been in talks with the Ohio Lottery about partnering up in a scratch-off ticket venture.

The Cleveland Browns are also in talks with the Ohio Lottery.

“We already have sponsorships with both teams and have started a dialogue,” Ohio Lottery deputy director of marketing services Terri Tancredi said. “They’re excited and we’re working with product development right now to see if the numbers work.”

Per the report, a winning Bengals lottery ticket would include cash as well as potential prizes, including tickets or jerseys.

The NFL approved the new business endeavor by a 32-0 vote at the league meetings earlier this month.

I like the idea. I buy scratch off tickets every now and then, now I won't be so indecisive on the ones to pick. Who knows maybe I will win something, i'm not opposed to it. I'm sure I will keep the stubs even if I lose since its Bengals.

Plus if I do recall each lottery ticket bought goes to help fund schools as well.

All I can say is 'Watch out Ohio Lottery!' If the Bengals submit any fine print, have it gone over and over and over again by the finest legal minds available. I don't want the majority of the State of Ohio's money destined for the educational system wind up in private hands.

Knowing Mike Brown's past history with contracts, he'll put some shady clauses in there.

I've read many times that Mike Brown is good at getting favorable contracts, but I haven't heard about anything shady. Could you fill me in?

On the Brown's scratch off I hear the grand prize is a season ticket. The consolation prize is 2 season tickets.
