Well I got bored and wanted to see if there were any early mock drafts out, not surprisingly, there are. I figured that I'd post what I found and show you what some people have us taking in 2008.
According to Walterfootball.com (Updated 10/19)
1st RD-Bengals, 7th pick- Darren McFadden, RB-Arkansas
-Another pick spent on a running back? Well, when you can't seem to develop any sort of ground game, you have to take one. Rudi Johnson has been getting more sluggish every year, seeing his yards-per-carry average drop to 3.0 this season. Darren McFadden could provide the Bengals with the spark they need at running back to make their offensive absolutely lethal. I know they need help on defense, but it's way too early for Dan Connor or Keith Rivers. Besides, we've all seen what Adrian Peterson has accomplished in Minnesota in just half a season.
2nd RD-Quentin Groves, DE-Auburn
3rd RD-Donnie Avery, WR-Houston
*the guy pretty much ripped apart Henry and said that this guy is going to replace him
Craig Smith (Updated 9/27)
15th Pick-Dan Connor, LB-Penn State
Matt McGuire (Updated 10/19)
6th Pick-Darren McFadden, RB-Arkansas
NFLDraftcountdown.com (Updated 10/12)
10th Pick-Keith Rivers, LB-USC
FFToolbox.com (Updated 9/17)
17th Pick-Aqib Talib, CB-Kansas
NFL Draft Blitz (Updated 10/19)
5th Pick-Glenn Dorsey, DT-LSU
There are a lot more out there, but this is a rough idea as to what people are giving us. We still have over half the season left so obviously these things will change a ton.

I think it is really way to early to truly come close to who we will pick but i have been looking around myself. I like Darren Mcfadden but i am kind of surprised that nobody has put us as taking Kenny Phillips.

The Bengals don't need a safety. You need to improve the front 7 to be successful. Look at the Broncos. Probably the best secondary in the league, but their defense as a whole ***** because the front 7 gets no pressure and the secondary has to cover the recievers for way too long.
Look more for a Glenn Dorsey or Calais Campbell type pick from the Bengals.

Does anyone think we might take Chris Long from Virginia? He is a 3-4 type player that is a great pass rusher. I think if Geathers is moved permanently to LB, we definately need a DE b/c Smith will more than likely be gone after this season.

How about this for the draft in order of rounds?
DE-OT-DT-LB-TE
That's how the Bengals should draft during the first 4 rounds.

How about this DT-DE-LB-OT.

how about we take the best player available at DT-DE-LB-OT. You can never go into a draft thinking i have to reach for this guy or i am drafting a DT in the first and so on.

Chris Long is an intriguing player because he can be a good DE in a 3-4 or 4-3. I'm thinking that we have to wait to see what the Front Office does after Justing leaves this offseason. We also have to factor in whether Pollack will be back and will he convert to DE? What kind of confidence do the coaches have in Frostee to take over?
I don't know what to think about our draft. All I know is that QB, CB, K, and P don't need to be looked at in the 1st round right now.

you are right about not reaching just because we want a certain postion player...but honestly with how many holes are on this team...i really think esp on def that we need to get the best player available...i mean honestly can we really say we have any postion besides...QB, and CB that we couldnt do a upgrade in...(in WR just because this year has been so bad on injurys...but we could probally put WR as a postion that we dont need to improve if henry is back).
its kinda sad for me because honestly i thought we were finally past looking at teh draft as getting the best player still around..cause we had so many holes....

Excellent idea to draft the best player availible. Not only do you improve your team, you also may have trade bait for later in the future. You never know when you need someone to trade for an extra pick later on.

I don't see how an offensive player can be considered the first couple rounds, especially a RB. Kenny Watson is a solid back and they drafted Kenny Irons last year. Nothing would surprise me though with some of the picks they have made in the past.
In my opinion the Bengal's biggest hole on offense is a receiving TE, they definately need to draft or pick up a free agent TE in the off season.

1st Round- Dan Connor LB/Penn State
2nd Round- Lawerence Jackson DE/USC
3rd Round- DeMario Pressley DT/NC State
3rd Round (Steinbach)- Wesley Woodyard LB/Kentucky
Because remember, Landon, Caleb, Dhani, Mays, Jeanty, Marshall, Schliegel are all free agents after this year.

Honestly, I would take him. This kid could be your next Asante Samuels.

Anouther good draft Peko but if still avaliable when we pick im leaning towards Dorsey at #1 since there should be alot of good LBs in this draft coming up.

Yes we do need defense...but we also need offense..we need O linemen, a running back, a tight end that can catch (and an OC that will throw to him) We have drafted defense over and over and pver again to what outcome?
Does it really matter who we draft if we can't seem to develop them or have defensive scheme that can stop someone?
Are we even capable of drafting someone decent with our lack of scouting department?
These are some of the glaring questions that face this team in the future.

I agree with most of what you said but i say we still have to continue to build the defense through the draft since we never do it through freeagency.

We need to build both on offense and defense through free agency, then slide our rookies in.

This team will be in serious trouble....yes..more than we are in now...if we do not start getting some offensive guys as well.

Our offense is not too bad. Our O-Line is banged up like always, and injuries have killed us for 3 years. Offense in the free agency market should be 2nd to defense. We need get a superstar defensive player, a solid corner, and a d-line that can get more than 4 sacks all together.

See, you forget one thing....when have we EVER gotten a monster in FA?? We get guys and then cut them..or we get them and they are fat and slow...we never have gotten a solid FA...not in a few years
