Oh, it absolutely is. But Mike Brown. does. not. care. about doing what is best for this team.

In six years of being on these Message Boards and nearly 16,000 posts later I have not typed a truer statement than that. "We're not going to reward Carson with a trade". Oh, so it would be a reward would it Mike? At least he got that part right.

Mike Brown is a miserable creature with no care for the outcome of this team.

I think that is the underlying point exposed by this whole fiasco that bothers me the most. I couldn't care less if carson were to retire, quit, comeback... whatever. It's that this decision exposes (again) the priorities to Mike.

what sux the most is Mike Brown makes it really really hard to remain a fan of thisw team, yet here we are. but i will tell you what makes it even harder to remain a fan of this team, and that is the hypocrisy of someone you actually know personally outside this MB who is so fake when it comes to being a bengals fan that he/she actually drives you away due to their continuing use of their knee pads for mike brown and their total hypocrisy
a certain person makes it easier to hate everything about this team more than Mike Brown ever has done, maybe that is because we all know what we get with Mike Brown, he has always been the same. Mike isn't fake and I didn't create mike brown....unfortunately i created the other monster

I really do understand where Mike is sitting. I know he doesn't want to reward Palmer a trade, I don't think many fans really do. But Mike's ego is not doing what is right for the Bengals in this situation. He needs to **** up his pride for once and do the right thing. Hell how many owners would not grant a trade for extra picks. I know the Patriots would.

It's simply called moving on.

CloeHokie

Let me ask you all a question. If this is all about football as Carson and his supporters have said then why will he only go to the West Coast? Think of it logically and you will come to the right conclusion. Its the same reason 90% of men make decisions.

Have fun retiring. I agree that I would like to get something for him. But I also agree with Mike Brown. I would rather force him to retire than get a 3rd and 5th round pick to let him have his way and quit on our team. Good riddance. Hope you can live without regret and resenting those that forced you into this.

And yet there has only been one total draft pick signed? Why? Because FA is more important at this point and teams already have the right to the draft picks. As many media outlets are reporting the Draft picks will be the LAST people signed because of this and it IS logical.

So what do you think of Bruce?

He is not the answer but he is not supposed to be. Dalton is. I think Dalton could even beat him out at some point early on this season.

I think he is a good back up.

Now its time to get JJ signed and a few others. I think we will sign Benson.

So that leaves a few wild cards. We need some OL help. Maybe Andre will be ready for once but I hear he is still in a boot.

There are some good S out there we could snag too.

I think Bruce is whatever. He's never had weapons before, but he doesn't have any sort of great skill. But he should be able to learn the system relatively quickly and he can teach Dalton pretty well. But I still think we'll be in position for Barkley/Jones/Luck.

We still need JJo, but he is apparently waiting to see what the other corners are geting.

I want Dahl or Blalock. Either works.

Huff, Landry, Goldson

You really don't like Dalton. Lol. No way we take a QB high next year after getting one very early in Round 2. Our saddle is on him for 2-3 years at least. Like I said Bruce is a good back up.

I think if a premiere guy is there, they have to take him. Dalton is a really good backup, but not a starter.

Huff seems to always play well though, so it may have just been a rookie issue and not a constant problem

Thats yet to be seen yet you have already dubbed him. A lot of people (Scouts) really like his potential in the NFL. I think he is a smart kid first and foremost and can make a lot of throws. So I think he can get it done. Also, besides Luck none of those guys are premiere. And we will not have the 1st pick.

Yeah, I just hope we get one of the good OL and some secondary help. I mean Pacman may not be back at all.

Eh, I watched them last season and was not that impressed. Watched Jones throw an awful pick 6 to a LB.

I really don't care about FA other than Joseph. If we let him walk, then I'm not expecting us to try and bring someone in to replace him. It'll be Leon and Pacman starting. Well if Pacman is injured, then it'll be Leon and Fred Bennett.

I'm a Ghee fan, but I would prefer Joseph.

I figured that Ghee was supposed to be Joseph's replacement when we took him, and some draftniks even compared Ghee to Joseph in terms of potential. However, we saw what Pacman looked like as a starter and what our secondary looks like without Joseph.

We need to re-sign him. After that, look at getting a good guard, and work on an extension with Hall.

Leon can only cover so many people at once, especially if he doesn't have another corner

At the moment i really cannot get my head around this.

When i heard the news that the Texans had signed him I was disappointed but thought that maybe they threw an absolute ton of money his way, I know around 9million per year for the next 5 years is a lot but when you consider how much cap room we have i am really scratching my head as to why MB didn't offer more (Maybe he did but from most reports I get the impression that Joseph was indifferent on staying)

Unless we hear of some big re-signing of Hall in the next few weeks i am struggling to understand this one.

Danno, enjoy your trip. Don't tune into any Bengals news. It won't be pretty.

Nothing is pretty about this orginazation. I had a feeling in my gut we would lose JoJo. And now I get the feeling we will either replace JoJo with medicore talent in FA, or try our luck with who we have. Also why have we all the sudden stopped looking at offensive lineman? We will see us sign 2nd tier players like always, and what is worse is we will over pay them.<_<

Some days I wish I had choosen a different team when I was a young kid. But young kids make foolish decisions.

I don't think they are targeting offensive linemen like people think they are.

Alexander said it himself that he believes Livings should start at LG, and that his is more than happy with Williams at RG.

Why is it that we are the only team that is happy with medicore players. I will never understand. Plus why not build up the line for Dalton or whomever will be starting.

By the way why are members saying we lost Rivers?

Even if we somehow ******** our way to a solid line (like say 04-05)... we'd just let the awesome guys go or **** them off (Steinbach and Jones)..... really this org just needs a makeover at the top before anything ever really changes for a significant time.

Maybe we should have drafted a CB higher in this past draft. It stinks to know that we hade a nice duo at CB. One of the better duo's around. And now were back to the drawing board cause Mike is cheap.

This i am truly thankful for, because I have a really bad feeling about this year with the Bengals. I wasn't sure a few years ago, but we lucked into a div title. Last year, I felt bad, and it was terrible. And this year, I feel just as bad (if not worse)... because I feel like we are the start of a string of new years that we are terrible. Mock Carson many might, but I don't like that we are going back to a "Is our QB good?" mode in a passing league.

So thank god for the Hokies.

That it would. No reason to ever draft 2 high CB draft picks only to let them both walk.

It is so odd around Bengal land. No one wants to be here, we can't figure out how to sign Jo back, we wont budge on trading Palmer, trade Chad for chump change, sign nobodys, and now we release Trent, and then re-sign him.

That's understandable and we can only do so much. But if we don't make a very strong and generous push to keep him here for years to come...I, I don't know.

There will never be a "straw that broke the camel's back" situation where I stop being a fan, unless the team moves to another city. But, this would be as close as it got.

Apparently instead of going after a CB that can play, or at least is average, the Bengals are going after Chris Car.

I would have preferred to keep the money and keep Adam Jones as the #2 spot.

Especially since they may give Car the contract they were gonna give Joseph. If it's close to the one Joseph got, I have no idea what I will do. Any ideas?

In my utter disgust for this franchise I have been looking for anything to make me "believe"...

This is what I am chewing on right now.

The reason the Bengals haven't been active in free agency thus far is Antonio Bryant. I know people are like WTF, but hear me out.

Bryant last year got payed huge, and never played a down. This year no player was allowed to even take a physical with their new team until Friday. So that is why they have waited. They are still feeling the sting. But now that they can bring guys in and give them a physical and check them out...

The signings are about to start rolling in.
