Just seems that there aren't as many signings as there have been in the past.
I heard most teams are going to just try to restructure their own contracts and cut dead weight, so that whenever a new cap is made, they'll have a lot of money to spend on a better FA class

I understand that a message board is for debate, but it has got to a point where if you don't agree with one person, you are labeled a moron or worse. Then you get these users who think they're forum dictators and say that we can't talk about [player/position] because we don't use them or they don't make sense.

So many people saying they have no idea who Reedy is. Funny because his articles have been posted all over JN during the season. He received a lot of praise from people on here and suddenly he talks about the Marshall talk as being a smokescreen and he's not the enemy.

If we bring him in for a visit, then I think there's a great chance that he'll be wearing stripes. Until then, it's extremely slim that he'll be coming to us. As of right now, I'm preparing myself for the TO signing.

A lot of us were hoping for that to go through. T.O. can really help us short term, he'd be a great weapon along side Chad. Bryant is still good with age, he could be here for a good number of years if his production is well.
I'm also excited about us possibly going after Phillip Buchanon. He's not the best of corners, but he can bring a lot to the table.

yeah, I can feel that. I am biased against him cuz his inconsistancy has screwed me over in FF a few times  but in the end, if it is down to one of them , not a huge deal who we get.
Keeping Zim, Tank, and Bobbie were what I viewed as most important to retain the same team as last year, now just a deep threat and a good draft and I will be pretty happy this off season.

Yea, we got what we need, as long as we get one of the two, then we just need a safety,
Wide Receiver and some more pass rushers.

ugh, work is too busy!
I think a stud safetly, like thomas would help out so much more than just the secondary, since it will allow Zim to be more aggressive with his front 4 and blitzers. Similar to the Jets, trust in your secondary and send your LBs on every play.

I was guessing the same thing Luigi. She had tried some new Indian Food last night and threw up all AM. So maybe she was dehydrated or something? She is ok they hooked her up to an IV and she is getting some rest. But man did she pick a good day for it. Lol. We have been slammed all day thus far. I loved how Bengals.pro was banned/suspended by the look of it. Even though he inevitably will be back...
I am in favour of Bryant over TO as he gives us more options in the draft IMO. With TO i think you still have to go WR in rounds 1 or 2 but are less handicaped if you have Bryant.
Interesting Lounge question. Would you rather have:
A. Brandan Marshall
B. Antonio Bryant, Leon Hall exntended (using the money saved not getting Marshall to make the ide a little clearer - so say Marshall would have been 10mil per year and Bryant was 6mil per year and the 4mil per year saved went mostly for Leon Hall/JJ)

She seems fine now. I got her shift covered tomorrow just in case she needs more rest but she wants to work.
So Bryant? TO? Marshall?
I dont get the whole not wanting to pay Marshall. If we take him we would be drafting him. IE - We would not have to pay our first round pick as well. Seems like paying Bryant and or TO along with that 21st pick would be a lot more money then just getting the best young WR out there who can step in for Chad in a few years or so.

Dinner and a move?
GEOFF HOBSON
Posted 1 hour ago
Terrell Owens is Twittering excitedly about Tuesday night's trip to Cincinnati. His last quarterback, the Bills' Ryan Fitzpatrick, sounds just as intrigued about Owens joining his former team.
"It's hard not to like T.O. He was fun to play with and no one worked harder," Fitzpatrick said Tuesday. "And let me tell you something. He can still flat out run by people."
Owens is very much in the mix. So is Bucs wide receiver Antonio Bryant. Bryant took a physical and visited with coaches and staff Tuesday morning and much of Tuesday afternoon before departing for what agent Lamont Smith has told media are other visits but not Washington. As some Bengals'coaches prepared to take Owens out to dinner Tuesday night in preparation for Wednesday's visit, the Bengals continued to mull their options for Chad Ochocinco's 2010 running mate.
Bryant is 29 who overcame a checkered past to have a career year in 2008 and is most likely looking for a lucrative long-term deal. Owens is 36 and late in a controversial but Hall-of-Fame career that doesn't fit the Bengals'age-wise but fits their specifications as a one-year panacea for a former Pro Bowl quarterback and a defending division champion looking to get over the hump in the playoffs.
Take your pick.
There probably isn't a wrong choice, which is why the Bengals are mulling and will into Wednesday.
Fitzpatrick, who backed up Carson Palmer in Cincinnati in 2007 and 2008, knows all those involved and likes the fit. Owens is supposed to eat his quarterbacks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not Fitzpatrick.
"The Bengals and Terrell make a lot of sense," said Fitzpatrick, who started 12 games for the Bengals in '08. "Carson is at his best when he's throwing the long ball and they've had trouble lately getting Chad freed up because he's always double covered. They don't have a deep threat on the other side and Terrell can bring that because he can still run and make big plays. Just knowing Carson, I think they would work well together. I saw Carson's quotes that he's pretty much handled it all and seen it all when it comes to wide receivers and I think he's right. Terrell wants to win. A great competitor and I think he and Chad would feed off each other. The guy was a good teammate."
Owens proclaimed not very long ago at a Super Bowl party last month that he'll change his name to Ocho Uno (81) if he comes to Cincinnati to team with The Ocho. Fitzpatrick says they are different guys.
"Both of them get a huge amount of media attention, so they're used to that," Fitzpatrick said. "Chad's more the jokester, the prankster in the locker room. Terrell is certainly not that way. I know there have been some scenes on the sidelines and stuff, but the guy just wants to win."
Palmer has apparently finally been able to get in touch with Owens to talk Bengals. Fitzpatrick has been texting Owens, letting him know that Palmer's long ball is looking for another partner. And to let Palmer know that Owens has still got it.
"I know we had a tough year and it discourages me when I hear people say he's lost a step," Fitzpatrick said. "Put on the game tape. He just blows guys up off the line with his explosiveness."
Ochocinco AND Ochouno? Could you imagine announcers for our games...
and today's lineup, Carson Palmer under center, with Benson in the backfield. Starting out wide
is the tandem of Ochocinco and Ochouno...

Yeah thats true. We should look for more players in free agency that have 3-4 experience. Hopefully we can have a top defense in the league. We havent had a good defense in a long time. He stinks at picking up free agents. He is too cheap. The only ever good signing he had was Woodson. He is good at the draft though. I hope we at least sign someone. I think Thompson has turned the team in the right direction but McCarthy is too conservative and I dont think this team will ever be a winning team with him at the helm.

Tough call on the Bengals. Obviously we need to fix our passing game so we can become balanced. TO seems like a 1 year player, so I would hope that we take one early in the draft. We also need to add some weapons on D because of our impending tough schedule. They're just incredibly hard to predict right now.

I don't want a QB until the 4th, or possibly the 3rd if someone falls. Carson had his issues, but our WRs struggled last year. Hard for a QB to do good when his WRs struggle. If we get Bryant/TO/Marshall and Palmer still struggles, then it's probably time to look for a new queen bee.

They are both sketchy to me. Bryant is injury prone and is even coming off a nagging leg injury that kept him out of most of the season. TO has not worked out ANYWHERE he has been. Just seems like a no brainer to me to go after Marshall. He is ten years younger than TO and Chad is getting older. He has had some troubles in the past but that sounds even more like a Bengal. I've given up on Marshall. We've heard basically nothing on our front other than we thought about it. It'd be nice to pull off a surprise and say that we've been following all along, but it seems unlikely. Since that leaves Bryant and TO, I'd take Bryant just because he'd be better long term option.

I've given up on Marshall. We've heard basically nothing on our front other than we thought about it. It'd be nice to pull off a surprise and say that we've been following all along, but it seems unlikely. Since that leaves Bryant and TO, I'd take Bryant just because he'd be better long term option.
Yeah, but no one saw the Sean Rogers trade going down. Granted it didnt work out, but it shows we keep those moves close to the vest.
Bryant is still 29. Thats a contract older than Marshall. I just hate the idea of a repeat of last season. Our window is closing with Palmer and Chad.

Marshall is the only guy who would probably stop us from taking an early WR in the draft. With TO or Bryant, we still need and early guy. I'm leaning towards Carlton Mitchell in the 2nd.

Thats the other thing BD. I really dont like any of the WRs in this draft. I like some Boom/Bust guys later in Rounds 4+ but the early guys all seem like that to me so why take the risk? None of them really stand out Imo.

There's no real stand out, but someone is bound to succeed. Our rookie would most likely be the #3 or #4 WR for us. Mitchell is someone I'm for because he's a tall guy who can take over Henry's role. Leaving Caldwell to be that over the middle player. Gives them time to develop and become the duo of the future.
The one I'm still worried about is Mike Williams.

Yeah, I imagine but I worry about our offensive scouts as well. Thats why a proven talent like Marshall is just an easy pick for me. But I agree its a freaking longshot.
I like Mitchell but would have to see what other spots are there when we draft.

This whole WR situation for us has just got be mind boggled.Brandon solidifies things for us,while T.O helps for a year, and im not all that high on Bryant either. Not to mention this class of WR's is not all that tempting besides Dez.Makes so much sense to sign Brandon, and wait on a WR in the draft.

It's definitely not the sexiest class of receivers, but there could be some solid #2 guys that come out of this draft. We all know Marvin's view that everyone takes at least one WR every year.

Of course we will draft a WR,but what round?I say we should only go WR in round 1 if Dez falls to us.So with that being unlikely,I would go with Safety, but again will Earl or Mays fall to us...I don't see it happening anymore, not since Mays ran that 40.So what is next.DL,OL?This is why we should trade that #1 for Brandon.

With all the talent in this draft and some people saying that late first round players and 2nd round players are of equal talent, it'd make sense to give up our pick for Marshall. Mainly because it seems like Earl Thomas won't be there at #21. We all know that we like USC players, so Zim will probably do hard analyzing of Mays to see if he can be that playmaker for us. For all we know, Iupati could be high on our board.

Wouldn't mind Lupati, but is this really what we should do with the 1st pick...actually if we don't trade for Marshall then this pick makes sense.Or we could try to trade and grab some more picks.

I'm all for a trade down. Acquire more picks in a very deep draft. Our best hope would be a solid RB being at 21 and trading with San Diego.

Well done eox B)
I wish for the sake of 3mil per year extra - presuming Marshall did want a 10mil per year contract - we had a proper go at him...
When you factor in the first round pick will add the money to roughly 10mil per year (i think) i don't know if i would rather Bryant or Marshall - even though we were never going to have a go at Marshall...
I hope so much that we dont mess up on this 1st round pick as it could be an ultimate what if moment for our franchise!
