So, going into this meeting next week and Carson says that he doesn't like the direction of where the offense is going with Bob Bratkowski as Offensive Coordinator, would you be surprised if any changes are made after that meeting? I don't mean to hound you with questions, hopefully you don't mind.

Firstly, Mike still has to get Palmer and Dunn to agree to the meeting. Assuming that happens, I can see Carson expressing his displeasure at Brat being retained. If anyone could force a change at OC, it might be Carson, but I wouldn't bet on it. I don't mind the questions at all. It's the same thing I do to my sources everyday!

Good to hear! All of us Bengals fans are just real curious of what's going on, I believe were all lost and would like to be caught up on what's really going on, but it's all quiet so we don't know what's going on. I mean, when you hear your franchise QB would like to be traded or may take up retirement is very alarming. I just can't believe (Well I can) that were going to have Bob Bratkowski for another year, I mean the offense has been what? Ranked 20th or worse the past 3-4 years, what more does it take? Were all discouraged, we want to win.

I don't want to be disrespectful to anyone, but Carson's mind is far from made up. He knows now that if he wants to play in 2011, that it will be as a Bengal. He has some very important decisions to make and I believe he will play in 2011.

They have already been in contact with Hall's agent and they want to get him done. They are not as interested in Joseph and their is some debate as to whether to Franchise him or not.

I would be fine with getting rid of Terrell Owens & Chad Johnson to draft A.J. Green in the first round. I'd be very happy with A.J. Green, I think Carson Palmer would be too. Maybe he could actually depend on his wide receivers to run the right route and make the catch! At least the playbook will be different, hopefully Bratkowski will get it together. We are just too predictable and basic on offense.

My biggest complaint with the offensive line is Livings & Cook. Both need to be upgraded. Anthony Collins seemed to do well at RT. I guess we'll see what Andre Smith can do but he nearly gets Carson killed every pass play. With the play calling, no changes after a 4-12 season with an average to below average offensive line, I can see why Carson is frustrated.

I'd take Al Davis over Mike Brown. At least he makes changes.

Mike Brown is the guy who talked to his dad, shortly before his passing, about David Klingler. Paul told him to steer clear of Klingler. Mike figured he'd be the QB that the league would least like to face in 10 years.

I've heard that Dan had a quicker grasp of the playbook than Carson did in his first year. He's a smart, competitive kid. The only real knocks I've heard on him is his arm is average at best and that he is very impatient when a play doesn't develop quickly.

I'm confident Carson Palmer will be the QB next year but I've been wrong before. I like my chances more with Carson than I do an unproven QB like Kolb. I'm not buying into Kolb yet. I personally have always thought they should take a nice long look at Trent for FS. He's got the prototypical size. He's not slow. And he's a decent coverage guy and that will improve over the years. But the bonus of him being at free is he could man up against slot receivers and we could keep 3 LB's on the field and stay in our base defense.
That would work, I think. I'm sure Zimmer will figure it out, lol. Zimmer will have this defense at the top if everyone stays healthy. Bengals defense actually played really well middle/later part of the season, especially with all the guys just being thrown in there. I just can't figure how they allowed to let the Bills destroy them like that. I just hate having to blitz to get pressure, sometimes that doesn't even work.

If anyone could make Trent an All-Pro safety it's Zim. I just want Ndukwe to be good too. But with Nelson here and Trent possibly moving to FS where does that leave Chinny? :nervous:

Nelson scares me a bit, he hasn't proven much thus far and when he did play, he didn't do that great. Time will tell I guess. That's a good question though. I don't think Ndukwe is that great either, to be honest. Not bad in coverage though.

People act like he's the worst safety ever because of the Jet playoff game. He got exploited in biting on the playfake but I'm sure Zim tore him a new azzhole for it.

I don't think he's horrible by any means, but I definitely don't think he's a starting safety in the NFL. He's good depth, no doubt about it. He's not horrible, and he's not great.

I don't know. I mean, look at Ryan Clark and Dawan Landry are IMO just marginal starters but look pretty damn good because of the guys across from them. If we can get Trent or Nelson to be that guy Chinny could be pretty good in this league.

When we got that huge storm that collapsed the Metrodome roof, we got about 18 inches of snow out of that, then we got some warmer weather & some rain so it went down quite a bit. We've been getting decent amounts from time to time. We probably have a foot or so.

Oregon. Blasted through the season with that nasty offense. Had to keep re-starting the offseason because my team was in shambles. Some of my top players were either transferring or declaring for the draft. I finally got to one where James was the only early declaration I lost, but his backup actually stayed. I couldn't keep him from transferring the first two times.

That is actually another part of the game I don't care for is watching some of your better players transfer from the best schools to worse schools.

I have James as a backup on the Bengals to Mark Ingram, and Scott.

I'm not the biggest fan of transfers because when I get them, they seldom wind up starting. I'll get stoked to have an awesome player transfer to me when I play as a small school, but then someone at the position hits beast mode and sky rockets overall. Then I'm left with two awesome players and it's hard to get both on the field.

Barner was trying to transfer to Stanford the first time around and then Washington State the second time.

Also landed

Marcell Darious
LB Shayne Skov
Ryan Mallet
LaMichael James
Jonathan Baldwin
JJ Watts
Nick Fairley

No, transfers are really tricky. The only way would be to find an amazing backup. Control his team and makes sure that he sees little to no playing time. Then they may consider moving on. You just can't control on where he'll go.

The Bengals aren't a bad team on Madden, even though they are rated at 73 I believe. Last night I played a guy using the Packers, in the snow. That was a lot of fun, not really. Every pass would just take off and land up where I didn't want it to, lol. But hey, I won 31-28.

The Bengals aren't a bad team on Madden, even though they are rated at 73 I believe. Last night I played a guy using the Packers, in the snow. That was a lot of fun, not really. Every pass would just take off and land up where I didn't want it to, lol. But hey, I won 31-28.

I'm trying to figure out the difference in that and real life. Mellow

Kind of, sort of. They are super stretchy. So, they're a mix between tights and jeans. It's probably a fad i'll look back on in the future and wonder what the heck I was thinking.

Mmmm, Ihop is going to be awesome.

I love my trade, I get great satisfaction when I see the smile on a homeowner, or project manager's face when a project is complete. I struggled quite a while before making the decision to change directions in the middle of my working years.

Once I get fully transitioned over to doing surveying, I'll probably still do some tile jobs just for the personal satisfaction of it. I've never been particularly artistic with traditional graphic media, but I can make some beautiful things out of tile and natural stone.

Thanks, it's sometimes relaxing to be immersed in a project.

Right now I'm just anxious to complete my degree and begin the process to become a licensed surveyor. North Carolina has one of the tougher licensing processes, but the reward is worth the effort.

BTW, I really enjoy the valuable info that you have been able to share with us here on the board. Having been a fan for 35 yrs., it gets rather frustrating trying to simply speculate as to what will happen. The insight is really refreshing, thank you.

How does Carson feel about Zampese? I question this because I've noticed some real problems with Carson's mechanics over the past couple of years, but I never see any improvement. One would think that a QB would work to correct those things.

Just checked the Science and Tech Programs at CMU. Looks like they have some really cool options:

Indust Tech Mgmt: Manufacturing
Indust Tech Mgmt: Mech. Design
Information Technology

All that's WAY out of my field. I'm a policy-wonk. My friends at CMU are in the Counseling Program. They TEACH counseling, though some would argue that they NEED counseling. :ninja:
