Bad news: He wont be ready to play this year, according to NFL.com.
Good news: He suffered no paralysis, and has resumed normal activities outside of football.
Personally, I'd love to see the guy back on the field again.
Think about how many players think it's their right to play in the NFL...*Cough, Pacman. Cough, Tank. Cough, Ricky Williams* and treat it as if it's a priveledge for us to watch them.
Then there's Pollack - a talented player that would LOVE to suit up for another season because he simply loves the game and has a great heart.
He may not be back to the form where he was before the injury, but it would still be really cool to see him suit up again.

You would be so much happier as Bengal fan and not a Steeler clone. Do you really want to continue being part of the collective? Unplug yourself!

It would be great to see him suit up again, but if it came down to seeing him on the field with the chance of getting seriously hurt again or seeing the guy just be able to lead a normal life, I'd rather see him walk away and just lead a normal life.

Can we make some kind of "Hall of Fame of Posts" for this?

Agreed. I'd hate to see him get hurt again. You MIGHT walk away from a neck injury once in your career, but not twice. I hope if he does come back he's completely healed and the doctors give him the green light first.

I think/hope he will be back. I live in Atlanta and today there was this big article on him. I was reading it an I thought, "Wow, this guy has both the want to and the motivation to come back. I don't see what can stop him." and quite frankly, I don't think there is anything. He's a hard working overachiever who will stop at nothing to reach his goal. We won't see him this season, but I bet two years from now He'll be playing in Hawaii.
Good Luck Pollack!
