So i dropped this thread long ago, it made for some heated smack back then lets see if it does the same now that carson added another milestone to a growing mountain of passer dominance.

Carson has a 30+ TD season already in his fledgling career, to put that into perspective, here's a quick list of some QB's who don't, or never did

Terry Bradshaw
Tom Brady
Troy Aikman
John Elway
Johnny Unitas
Steve Mcnair
Joe Namath
Phil Simms
Marc Bulger
Drew Brees

Carson has thrown for 4,000+ yards, here's a quick list of QBs who haven't yet, or never did

Terry Bradshaw
Troy Aikman
Joe Montana
Johnny Unitas
Jim Kelly
Steve Mcnair
Joe Thiesman
Donovon Mcnabb

Why don't you make a list of 4k yard passers who've never won a playoff game. That should be interesting.

You go right ahead and tell me Carson's not the best one on that list

Alright, I'll admit it. Carson is the best QB in the league that hasn't won a playoff game.http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f110/Bloodington/laugh.gif

Please shutup. That gets sooo old. He's had a mere 3 YEARS with the struggling D we've had, that's not easy. And it's not like he choked in the POs either. He got injured very early in the game. Peyton took 8 years before he got to the SB and he now sits a couple tiers higher than Ben's wildest dreams.

Yeah, it is old. But no older than the constant Ben vs. Carson threads or the tired crap this guys been drudging up. I don't think it's unfair to respond in kind.

As for Peyton, if his recent ring proves anything to you then you're clueless. He choked and gagged his way through the whole playoffs, he didn't have one solid game. the only difference this year is that his defense actually stepped up. Peyton is still the playoff choke artist he always was.

sloppy, I like your posts, but you have to look at the entire picture when trying to keep things in perspective, not just the side that favors your point of view.

Players who have thrown for 30+ TDs:
Duante Culpepper*
Kurt Warner*
Jeff Garcia
Steve Beuerlein*
Vinny Testeverde
Scott Mitchell*
Jim Everett*
Dave Krieg
Lynn Dickey
Steve Bartkowski
Brian Sipe*
Vince Ferragamo

Players who have thrown for 4000+ yards:
Jon Kitna
Duante Culpepper*
Jake Plummer
Rich Gannon
Kerry Collins
Kurt Warner*
Elvis Grbac
Steve Beuerlein*
Brad Johnson
Mark Brunell
Vinny Testeverde
Scott Mitchell*
Don Majkowski
Jim Everett*
Jay Schroeder
Neil Lomax
Lynn Dickey
Bill Kenney
Brian Sipe*

*appears on both lists

Look, I'm sure most of us here - even many of the Steelers fans, albeit reluctantly - would admit that Palmer appears to have the tools and ability to end his career in the kind of elite company you listed. However, we can make that assessment just by watching him play, not by using a pair of trivial statistics. Besides, aside from not playing under the pass-happy rules of the modern NFL, Johnny Unitas never even had a chance to play in a 16-game regular season, so that comparison is extremely unfair. [:)]

He may be the best that never won a playoff game, but how does he rank (so far) against those who never won a Super Bowl? There are guys on that list in the Hall of Fame, and as good as Carson is, he hasn't qualified for that distinction yet. Just off the top of my head, I can come up with at least three to whom he still has some catching up to do: Marino, Fouts, and Kelly.
With that being said, though, I think that by the end of his career, there's an excellent chance he'll be at the top of that list ... [:D]

Now THAT was some good stuff.

Anyway, it just goes to show you that statistical accomplishments aren't everything.
By the way, this post officially lifts you off of the 'etc.' and on to the main list. [;)]

Dude....If Cower would have had the sack to play us straight up instead of nominating Kimo to take out Palmer knee......he would of had a playoff win......****** bag!

Agreed. It wasn't intentional and that's all that matters. Some fans though will never step back and look at reality. Had it not happened, who knows? And that's all we can say.
