So far, I've seen great effort from Benson since he's been with us. I have no reason to believe that this will change.

They said a lot about Benson when he came here, and have abeen saying a few worse things about him after the Bears game. Some's the green eyed monster, some's sour grapes, but not much of it's been true.

Make no mistake. If you think Benson was a beast during the Bears game, you ain't seen nothing yet. Thomas Jones is a strong personality and I highly suspect he was the ringleader of the poop circus that greeted Cedric in Chicago.

I think Cedric wants to stuff this game down Jones' throat. I'm glad he got to rest and is ready now that the game counts for something.

After the Chicago game, I was singing that Toby Keith song, "How Do You Like Me Now?" to myself as I walked back to my car. I hope I get to crank it up this weekend.

Players in Chicago hated Benson from the moment he showed up there. They loved Thomas Jones and they didn't like the fact that the organization even drafted another running back, let alone at #4. Ced had some attitude issues early on that didn't help things, but he's not "soft." Look how he played out the end of last season in the cold.

Ced's a different player here than he was in Chicago. i can't believe we still have to have that conversation.

I don't know if any of the Bengals like the cold. I was a sunday's game and the effort that they put forth was lackluster at best. I know they didn't have anything to play for but 75 yards! come on. The abuse I took was tough to take. But I do have hope for Saturdays game. Let Carson be Carson and take our chances from there.

Cory Dillon said of the Bengals from NE right before the Pats went to the SB..."(Laugh) Man, they don't even wanna win.."
I've never liked him since.
They wanted to win, they were just unable to win back then. <_<
As for the cold...Who cares? They ALL know they'll play in the cold in the NFL. There's utterly no way to escape it and EVERY player knows it.

I think he may better in the cold. Seems to make it harder to tackle running backs as long as the ground isn't slick. And I may be wrong but he kicked tail in the Chicago - Seattle playoff game back in '07. I seem to recall Benson and Jones ripping it up in what seemed to be some serious cold weather up in Chicago. I may have the game wrong but I never forgot Benson's name and I wasn't even following football at the time.

I have a hard time believing that ANY player in the NFL is going to give anything but his best effort in a playoff game. Benson wants a ring like the rest of them. Hot, cold, rain or snow players play when everything is on the line. I wouldn't worry about Benson.

The reason to have a run first offense is cold weather play.

It's a lot harder for recievers to catch a cold hard slippery/icy ball.

Benson also has a huge motovator breathing against the back of his neck in LJ .

If he goes soft, or gives up now, they will replace him with LJ...

It's all about winning at all costs now, not stroking his ego anymore.

I hope you are absolutely incorrect although what you say is believable. I am also afraid of him fumbling in the frigid Ohio weather.

I have a gut feeling he is going to try too hard and mess up

I think the big question is how will Carson perform in the cold. He has been known for having some of his down games when it is cold.

Why even listen to any EX-player of Ced "The Boogie Man" Benson that begins a statement that describes CB as SOFT????:hmm:

People also said that he was selfish, got arrested all the time, was worthless, was an alcoholic, and was a bad locker room guy and team mate in Chicago. They all said he was soft regardless of the conditions as well. Look what he has done for us this year. Does it look like the guys isn't gonna try? That just makes no sense.

I think Ced will be fine. I am worried about all of the players in the cold. It has to be tough, even if you have a sideline heater, to go from warm to cold to warm to cold. It amazed me to see some of the players in shirt sleeves against the Jets last week. I don't know why you wouldn't wear the long sleeve under shirt for any reason. Last week was good practice for this week, weather wise. I hope they are well rested, well hydrated, prepared for the cold and especially prepared mentally for all of the plays they need to make and the penalties they need to avoid. Also, they must be prepared for anything the Jets might try to pull. That is the bottom line more than the cold weather.

Benson is the least of my worries, Carson and the recieving corps is what I am worried about.

I wouldn't worry about anything that comes out of Chicago regarding Benson, we all seen what he did to them and how they performed this year. If any team is soft its Chicago. They are just hating on Ced.

I thought the same thing originally but hold on for this. I was surprised at how WELL Carson played on Sunday night when he was in. Even though he was 1/10 he was as accurate as he's been all year but the Chicago game. He was putting lasers in guys chests and they were flat out dropping the ball. His deep ball to Caldwell was one of the best he's thrown this year, and his deep pass to Chad was on the money too. He could have easily been 7/10 without those dropped balls. And it those conditions that's pretty darn good. The WRs are a different story.

Also, Cedric is an angry football player. He's going to fill himself with rage and run over people, I have no doubt about that. You're going to get 110% from him.
