are we giving up on hall already?? Hall was the right choice. He is a rookie and he is looking like one. He also has made some playes this year that gave us a glimpse of how great he could be. Lets not forget he is one of the few players to pick off tom brady this year. Give him a few years and if he still looks like this then we can discuss who we should have drafted.

no not giving up on hall at all but it was a very interesting subject think we could have traded the pick and got more picks and more help :smirk:

only other guy i was thinkin wed take was jon beason, who i think would have been great considering our lack of lb talent and depth. But i think they passed on him because they still thot thurman might be back this year. I still think hall will be fine tho, if we ever improve the front 7 the secondary will be fine.

how about we trade down a few spots in the 1st round and take Reggie Nelson, and by trading down we can then move up a few spots in the 2nd round and pickup woodley or david harris....

are fron 7 is the reason we need to draft a pass rusher and a athlete at dt not a apratment building in are 1st and 2nd round picks for a change and don't make are de's linebackers a great front line make bad corners look like hall of famers so imagine what they will do with are talented but inexperiance db's:cool:

I agree that Hall was the right pick but if we had known that Henry was going to be gone for 8 games and Tab Perry was not going to be back, that Greg Olsen pick would have been very, very tempting.

Hall bar none was the right pick.
But I would of much rather seen us trade Rounds 2 and 4 to Oakland, and get Paul Posluszny before Arizona and Buffalo moved up.

Hall was absolutely the right pick. No one imagined him falling that far in the draft, but he did. We made the smart move and drafted a solid CB. I also agree with Peko that we make some kind of trade to get Posluszny. The fact that he fell to the 2nd was amazing and I was upset when Buffalo snatched him up.
Absolutely have to agree with most posters here, Hall has the most upside and the most Champ Bailey-esque qualities.
Remember,t he Foreskins, essentially, traded away Champ for Portis , and the rest was history.
I actually remember that draft, it was like 4 hours into it, and we had jsut gotten to the 17th pick, and a grin came over my face as I knew it would be Revis or Hall, and I really wanted Hall. Then the Jets traded up and I thought that was it, the Hall sweepstakes was up, and instead of trading Revis, they would trade with the Stain and get more picks.
Then they took Revis and I jumped out of my seat. The Bengals staff said they wanted Hall all along, he was the player they were targeting since day 1. Great character guy, fundamentally sound, 4.4 speed (I think 4.38-4.39) & can tackle. Perfect Marvin player.
