This is not smack and probably shouldn't be here(not that I'm any good at it anyway), but I need some info and this get's the most traffic besides jungle noise which I'm not allowed to post in.

Anyway, I work for the largest snackfood company in the world(not hard to figure out which one) and our region has won an award for "Operations Excellence" for the second year in a row. So they are taking us to Cincinnati, all expenses paid(except for our non company function alcohol and food), for the weekend(July 21st and 22nd). On saturday we will be at the Duke energy Center in the grand ballroom for a fancy dinner, drinks and live entertainment(last year they took us to Cleveland[+o(] for an Indians game and hired comedian Frank Caliendo for our nighttime entertainment)

So, the question(s) is(are), does any one know that area of town? We will be looking to hit some clubs/bars afterwards(dinner/entertainment is supposed to end at midnight). Are there any in that general area? preferably with live music, but not absolutely necessary.
and if so, meet up with us for some drinks and the first couple rounds will be on me. Well, not on me hopefully, I mean I'll buy them for you to drink[;)]

Thanks in advance,
The CatKiller

The only problem with that is, we won't have transportation unless we take a cab. Most of the company is flying down and the unlucky ones get a 3 1/2 hour bus ride. I'm one of the unlucky ones. Our hotel is supposed to be near the Duke Energy Center, so I was hoping for something within stumbling distance.

It's actually not far from downtown. You can walk across the Purple People Bridge I believe. Downtown Cincy will be dead late night, so Newport will be your best bet.

Well we may have to look into that then. Any suggestions on cool places to go in Newport?
Thanks CC

CC said it best, levee is your best shot, and it is also a cool place to go. It is probably a mile away from the Energy center walking wise.

Thelevee is alright. But if you are really into bar hopping, downtown andmount lookout are much more fun. Cadillac Ranch is one of the best barsin the greater cincinnati area and I'd recommend it to anyone visitingthe city. Cadillac ranch is on 5th street a few blocks from the river. As far as food, you can't miss Montgomery Inn or Zips Cafe. There are 3montgomery Inns. One in montgomery, one on the river which is calledthe boat house, and the other in Fort Mitchell, Ky. Fort Mitchell isusually the least crowded but the Boat house has the neatest view andinterior. Zips Cafe is in mount lookout and has won the Taste ofCincinnati every year for best burger in the Nati', and is nationallyranked for its burger and has been featured on the food channel. Not tomention Zips has a great selection of beers and whiskeys. Metropolis isprobably the best club in the area, and very large with lots of prettyladies. Clifton has a fair selection of neat and original bars, but bewarned you will run into many college kids from UC and Xavier, and theycan get pretty rowdy, but they know how to have a good time.

CadillacRanch if defiently within stumbling distance of Duke Energy Center. Ihave stumbled their several times after working the boat show. I'd sayyour 2 blocks from the Cadillac Ranch at the convention center.

I've walked to the levee several times from Duke and it is not as easyof a walk as everyone is saying. And this is coming from a collegestudent who walks every where down at school. The purple people bridgeis a decent stroll.

Hey thanks everyone. I just did a search for some of the places you all have talked about, Newport on the Levee and Cadillac Ranch, both sound good.
Also Hooters is awesome. I love their wings, that's the only reason I go there.[;)]http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e298/jabro71/Steelers/hoot.jpg

There's a really cool place to party for you and your steeler buds thats closer than Newport. Just walk north on Vine Street until you get to a part of town called Over the Rhine. Be sure to take lots of cash. It looks like a bad part of town, but it rocks once you get far enough north (at least 5-7 blocks past Central Pkwy). Make sure you tell the locals your from out of town, they'll help you find the good places.

It's funny that this was brought up.
I normally don't wear any jerseys in the summer, but I always wear some sort of Steelers gear, so you can bet your ash I'll be wearing a Steelers t-shirt. I gotta represent, I gotta keeps it real yo.

Steely, I too spent a day walking around downtown Cleveland and then my old band played a show that night, all while wearing my Ben jersey. Only one person made a comment and that was some blonde chick who said I must have some "guts"( not the words she used). She then proceeded to show me her Steelers tattoo that was in a place that's not supposed to be exposed in public.

So yeah, I'm not worried.
Besides I'll have my lady with me and if anything goes down, I'll have her defend me **cough**cough**Colts fan**cough**cough**
sorry, I must be getting a cold

Big Ben now has as many sexual assault allegations as he does super bowl rings!
I guess when you have 2 rings and millions it is ok to tell the local girl to role play as Hines Ward catching the long balls.
