Who do you think of when you hear particular jersey numbers. Obviously some are simple 78 = Munoz, for example.

I would like to see who fans associate with which uniform numbers. We got 1 - 99 (maybe a 00) I don't remember any, but maybe the old OLD heads do. =-)

I'm going to start with

#3 - It's a magic number!

Who do you associate with the #3 for the Bengals?

My vote is for Jim Breech

Kitna gets an Honorable Mention :rock on:

I like Kitna but Breech played for 12 seasons in stripes while Kitna only played 4. Plus, Breech played for both Superbowl teams. Breech gets my vote. :denny:

Man what was the saying? " Its long enough, its wide enough, ITSSS GGOOOODD!!!!!" and we all go crazy! I remember that being my favorite saying to hear at the end of the game when I was like 7. It always meant we were at least in the game!

Breech all the way...
but loved Kitna's Character!

Same here. I was too young for Breech. Kitna sticks in my memory more.

I figured that would be the case. Depends on age. LOL!

Yeah-Yeah
04-05-2010, 01:39 PM
Kidney Bean? You GOTTA be kidding.. He was smart and a good backup but never a high caliber starting QB.. Jim Breech has it hands down without even thinking about it, but...
Even if your numerical history stinks like mine does just go to the Bengals history page and there is a .pdf that shows every number ever worn and who wears/wore it.. For the benefit of those who lack the motivation to hunt it down it's right here.. http://prod.static.bengals.clubs.nfl.com/assets/docs/uniform_numbers.pdf

No thanks needed.. just go look em up.
Either way I don't really associate to many people to a number. That's kind of demeaning when you think about it. that's how they locate and refer to inmates in prisons.. Golly gee.. How many of you want to be known by a number? Dammit..Now I'll have the Bob Seager song stuck in my head all day and its ALL YOUR FAULT! I'm not a number......

All this time I thought someone had started a new club called the All Time Bengals Jersey Number Association with a board of directors and the whole kabootle.. How disappointing.

Closest thing we had to a Super Bowl MVP. Until Joe Montanna to John Taylor broke my heart.

Jim Breech.

Does anyone even associate the numbers 1,2,4,5, or 6 with a Bengal? I only think J.T. O'Sullivan for #4 and I don't think he counts yet. LOL!

So the question is who do you associate with...

#1.
#2.
#4.
#5.
#6.

Jahmani3

The reason I ask, I'm trying to be as accurate as possible with a team of Electric Football Players (yes from the 70's). I'm getting a set of Orange Jersey w/ White Pants painted and was looking for input.

We've never assigned #1 to anyone.

Anthony Wright is the only guy I can think of for #2.

I know Casey Bramlet wore #4, so I'll go with him.

Rackers is the first name that comes to mind for #5.

Craig Krenzel will always be #6 to me just because someone actually got a customized authentic Krenzel Bengals jersey and had it in their sig.

I was going to add 85, but I wonder if even fellow older members would put Curtis over Ocho.

Oddly enough, I don't think Palmer ever had a #1 jersey. He was signed before the draft and was given the #9.

He actually got a #9 at the NFL Draft as well.

If anybody in the Bengals organization is reading this PLEASE DRAFT MARDY GILYARD!!! Depth at this area will be crucial. Heck if Jerome Simpson somehow comes out of nowhere and starts playing good ball there is always good trade value there. But the only thing we have seen out of Jerome is inconcistency. Nice guy just drops too many balls. Has been in the system for 2 yrs. now and can't find his way on the field, that says a lot to me. Watch his tape, I HOPE MARVIN IS BECAUSE HE IS A FORCE!!! PLEASE DRAFT MARDY GILYARD!!! THANK YOU!;) HOPE BENGALS FANS CAN REALIZE THIS IS THE BEST PICK! WATCH MARDYS TAPE ON YOU TUBE!

14 - Kenny Anderson
7 - Boomer
13 - Ken Riley

My 58 goes to Tovar! My 28 goes to Dillon, but Harold Green comes in 2nd place.

Who's Rey?

I agree 58 belongs to Tovar, for now!! Give Rey a couple years though. Still, I had to go with Rey on my team because of star quality. :tiger:

Who would get 32?

Ki Jana Carter, Rudi Johnson, Cedric Benson, Stanley Wilson

This is a highly contested one for me.

Benson Wins for my team, because he's the incumbent.

But.....
Rudi helped me get over Dillon
KiJana hurt me to my heart, saw so much promise.
Stanley was the original 32, in my eyes

How about Skip Mcclendon for no. 72 , played DE on the 89 super bowl team. He was a 4th or 5th round pick out of Arizona State played well at times that year.Leo Barker for 53 and Tom Dinkle for 52.

WTS we can all submit a list on who wore what number. Yet there are only a select few numbers that I look at and say "Hey, that's___________ number" Those numbers are:

7- Boomer
13-The Rattler
14- Kenny
69- Krumrie
78- Munoz
85- Chad.

Yeah those are the easy one's though, some of the old heads will argue 85 being Issac's. I, for one, agree with you. I mean the man kinda took it, since he changed his name to 85. lol!

9- Palmer?

Nope, I'm too much of an International "futbol" fan to think of Carson when I see a #9 Jersey. Be I agree he is the best Bengal to ever where the number.
