Dezmon Briscoe

Wow! That was a steal, I have no clue how this guy lasted to the 6th round. Yeah he had a terrible combine, running a forty in the 4.7's, but if you watch him play he plays much faster than that. The more I read and see on this guy the more I like him. NFL.com has him graded higher than all of our draft picks except Gresham, for what that's worth. Any concerns I had about what if Antonio Bryant doesn't work out have been relieved somewhat. I think this guy could compete for the #2 WR spot halfway through the season, depending on how fast he picks up the offense.

I've heard something about character concerns, don't remember what it was but obviously it wasn't that bad if it wasn't well known. Either way in the 6th round it's well worth the risk. This could be the 2nd year in a row we find a gem in the 6th round with Bernard Scott being our 6th round pick last year.

I like this pick in the 6th. I have read that he is timid over the middle, so I don't know if he is a TJ clone. However, with Chad, Shipley, and Gresham, we can take advantage of the middle while keeping Briscoe outside the hashes.

I think at minimum Briscoe will push Antonio Bryant to work harder to hang onto that number 2 WR spot. I love having all these WR's, the competition in camp will make all of them better. I'm super excited about that pick, honestly I think it was the best value pick they made in the draft.

I love Briscoe. He was a steal, and I think can definitely be a #2 caliber WR. But I don't think he is going to challenge Antonio Bryant for the #2 spot on this team because Bryant isn't your typical #2...he's more like a #1 / #2

Hi Bengal fans. I'm a Raider fan, but also a KU Jayhawk fan. I'm so ****** that the Raiders took a TE one pick ahead of Briscoe. I hope that TE makes the team lol.

Briscoe is gonna be a stud. I can feel it. The guy is just pure clutch. Defenses knew that the ball was either coming to him or Miere and he was unstoppable. Briscoe may be a speedster, but he makes it up with good routes and great body control. He shields the ball from defenders really well.

As far as being timid going over the middle? I saw zero evidence of that in career at KU. The just gets open, and catches everything thrown his way.

This kid is going to be a stud in a few years. He may not be the fastest guy on the field, but he catches everything that comes close to him. great pickup for a 6th rounder.

All this kid did was catch passes and score touchdowns! Steal of the draft! Dez will become an elite WR in a year or so, just wait... He has the hands,size, vertical ability and speed to dominate and be a true play-making, game breaker for the Bengals! He's going to develop into our future #1 wideout at some point.. We couldn't have gotten a better value in the 6th round.. Not to mention he shields the defender and catches EVERYTHING, and after he catches it, he runs with it, and the run after catch ability is off the charts! Marv and Zim will keep him in line for sure! also he's very aggressive over the middle, not afraid to take a hit..
one more thing, hey raiders/bengals fan, oakland didnt take a TE one pick before Dez, it was an ILB from Arizona St, Travis Goethel, but I agree completely with your comments

Jerome latched on because he was a 2nd round pick.

Just cause Dez is better than Simpson, doesn't mean he will or should make the team. He will either be PSed or won't make the team

Yeah you're right it was Goethel. I hope he makes the team. :lol:

Goethel was drafted mainly for help on special teams, and we definitely need help in that area, but my boy Briscoe was right there. I just feel like Briscoe is a player that will have an impact.

Anyway good luck to Briscoe and the Bengals (and Raiders) in 2010.

TJ was a scared as a rabbit going over the middle for like his first 3 seasons he dropped almost everything (maybe only 2 seasons i dont remember but i wanted him cut bad then he finally came into his own and man'd up) Briscoe wont have to go over the middle we have Greshamn/Bryant/Shipley/Coffman for that
