I just read this little tidbit...

The Miami Hurricanes (4-1) have had a good season thus far, and a lot of their success is credited to their defense. This past weekend against Duke, 6-foot-8, 280-pound junior Calais Campbell recorded eight tackles, 3.5 for a loss, and 2.5 sacks against the Blue Devils. Campbell, who's the best defensive end in the country, is a gifted athlete who can take a game over. He's quick around the edge and makes plays in the backfield. Another stalwart on the Hurricanes defense is senior linebacker Tavares Gooden. Gooden is an athletic, instinctive linebacker who's leads the Hurricanes in tackles (48) and displays great playmaking ability. Against Duke, Gooden recorded 14 tackles and recovered a fumble. If Campbell enters next April's NFL Draft, he's a sure top-ten selection, while

Now everyone knows Campbell, and if he goes, would be a great pickup....he's the DE beast we've needed, and the other guy cant day iver heard of him, but he sounds like a good 3rd or 4th round pick up.....add in lesley woodyard.

Now if Glenn Dorsey falls in our lap then of course take him, but considering he is probably going to go 1 or 2, id be quite happy with Campbell if he decides to go pro...

Walterfootball.com has us picking #8 and the pick is....

Cincinnati Bengals: Calais Campbell, DE, Miami
I considered James Laurinaitis here, but I don't think the Bengals could pass up someone of Calais Campbell's talent level. And it's not like they don't need a defensive end; as of Nov. 2, they have only one player who has more than one sack. Cincinnati's defense can't stop anyone, especially when it uses its 10-man formation. Drafting Campbell could be a start to repairing one of the league's worst stop units.

Id be alright with this!

if james laurinaitis decides to go in the draft which i believe he will he would be the most realistic pick up as dorsey will probably already be gone... Laurinaitis is just what we need..a big name player who is a leader..bengals dont really have big leaders out there on the defense ...laurinaitis is everything the bengals need...someone to fire up and lead the defense much like ray lewis does the ravens.. and not to mention he is animal

I think he would also be a great pick up, but as Campbell is, it all depends if they go to pros.....given wear we draft, specially if its a top 10 we will pick someone up on the defensive side of the ball who can help tremendously on defense. another LB who would be a good leader is Dan Connors at Penn State

fix the dline first...i would love to get cambell or dorsey.. if we don't get dorsey (who will be a top 3 pick if not number 1)...we need to draft a big DT who can help peko on the line...peko is decent but not great...we also need to move geathers back to DE unless we are switching to a 3-4 but that is another post entirely...the first 2 rounds need to be on the D line unless a stud linebacker falls to us in the second round

Well, remember that Campbell did this against Duke. I mean it's impressive, but it IS Duke.

Saw Campbell play tonight i was not impressed with him he's tall and quick but looks slim and not much muscle don't think he will hold up at the pro level.

Same was said about Jason Taylor.

If we can get him late, I say what is the harm?

I don't want to waste a high pick on him though.

I still think we need a big strong DT in the 1st round to stuff the run then get a DE end in the second round.

I didn't see the game, just the score, but I think it's safe to say Chris Long's stock went up while Calais' went down.

Maybe Marvin does know what he's doing. Atrocious season, but it looks like he's vying for position in the draft.

I just checked the game stats from CSTV Gametracker. Despite the lopsided Virginia win, it looks like Calais had a better game than Chris Long... I thought I'd correct myself before somebody else noticed the game stats. Calais had nine tackles and a sack.
