In a move which could free up the Pirates to trade former All-Star Jack Wilson, the Chicago Cubs traded backup SS Cesar Izturis and cash to the Pirates

The Cubs also traded C Rob Bowen to the Oakland A's for C and former Pirate Jason Kendall. The Cubs had acquired Bowen from the Padres in exchange for Michael Barrett.

This kills me. While wilson is not the best palyer on the Pirates, by stats Bay probably is, but Wilson is a top defensive player, an alright hitter and tries harder then any other guy on that team. He gets in an argument with the pitching coach of all people, over a pop fly he missed, that the outfielder should have had it anyway, a day or two ago and then they trade for a SS who played for Tracy in LA....

That is an understatment. However, even his defensive sklls are not all that good. He does call a real good game though, and don't forget the whopping 2 homers in liek the last 2 seasons, both of which came this season I believe...
