What's with the new rep thing?

I just got on and noticed it saying rep power and i have 38 with 4 green bars but then i see someone with like 8 green bars and they have a 38 also.Im just wondering no big deal i just haven't seen this yet untill today.

It probably tops out so that someone with a ton of rep and post can't just wipe out your rep with one bad rep.

just means how many rep points you can give someone and take away from someone, the number of green bars doesn't change every single time so if you have 38 and someone with more green bars also has 38 or vice versa just shows the rep, not the rep strength etc. if that makes sense. you don't get more power points with every rep thing so you may have more green bars but your strentgh may stay at 38 for a bit until you reach another mile stone etc.

Just to add to what Joe already said. If you give negative rep, it counts for half or your rep power

i.e. If Joe gives someone a positive rep 208 points add to your current rep total. If he gives negative rep 104 points are taken away.

Yes it does...and from what I can tell, it doesn't do anything special for me other than change my name to blue and add the VIP pic up there......but everyone already knows I am VIP!! :lol:

There really should be a percentage of rep points given when you do because every post isn't worth total rep points. Like star credit value based on 6 total stars at a certain percentage for each.
