Ok there is another thread asking do you like the new Reds Skipper......well this one is different and i hope i did'nt miss the thread that this one may imitate.....But the guy i'd love to have here as the new Mngr is Lee Mazzone ..Pitching coach for the Orioles ...Mazzone was the pitching coach who helped develop Smoltz ...Glavine ....and helped make Maddux so great ....He coached on team that won how many division titles ?10.....And where is our most glaring weakness?Pitching esp in the bullpen in the 8th inning ....seems that would make sense to me since this club has not developed a pitcher of our own in a long, long time ...just my thoughts.

I can't say Mazzone would be a bad choice, but, for some reason, he reminds me of **** LeBeau. Even being a great specialist - pitching coach or defensive coordinator, for example - does not necessarily translate to being a good manager/head coach. I'm not sure he'd even want to manage any team. You would think he'd have had at least some opportunities by now.

my pick is Ron Oester all the way

Oester? What has he done to prove he can lead this team in the right direction? Absolutely nothing. The reason people liked Oester happen to be the same reason people liked Miley, Boone and every other home cooked possible manager.... the AMAZING.... BLINDING.... ALL FORGIVING... Cincinnati connection.
You know how qualified Oester is to be a MLB manager? He is managing the Cincinnati Steam of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. If he were such a great prospective MLB manager then.... well..... why have 32 teams... and countless minor league teams overlooked him? How can such a talent go untouched for so many years? The answer is simple... There is only one Cincinnati... and the Cincinnati connection only allows Reds fans to see the amazing talent that these people have.

Calm down, David. I know myself, and I think I'd manage this team A LOT better than the likes of Bob Boone.

Otherwise I wouldn't critique 90% of the moves Jerry Narron.

(Oh, that was ALL sarcasm, btw)
