I am a fan of drafting him but i would not have a problem with going defense but did anybody watch what Marvin said today when somebody asked him what he would like to fix on the team. He said the running game but after that he added did the run defense. Does that mean we might draft another RB?

In My Opinion we should be good at RB> We got Irons last year and hes a pretty decent back. Hopefully we'll have him back next year. Then we have Rudi, Kenny Watson, Chris Perry, and DeDe Dorsey. If you aske me thats a pretty good lineup of RBs for now...

I have wet dreams imagining the Bengals with AP. Not really, but we would be invincible.

I have alot of questions with them though. Chris Perry has never been healthy but one year. DeDe Dorsey does not have much besides speed. Kenny Watson is good but can he carry a full load? Rudi Johnson is getting slower and he needs to put the weight back on i just do not see him being productive anymroe.

Yes we really need Defense but RB is a big need to and Glenn Dorsey will be gone so the next best player is Mcfadden

That is true, Watson is good but we have yet to find out whether he can carry the full load. Chris is injured, and DeDe doesnt have much experience. Not to mention Irons being injured. But thats why I said its a pretty good lineup for now. If it doesnt work then maybe it would be good for us to pick up a good RB in the draft or via free agency in the next year.

If watson has a few more good gemes then i will not call for Mcfadden anymore. I do not see use going after a free agent though there are not going ot be any body to pick up besides Micheal Turner who is going ot want some really huge money.

Theres nothing bad in calling for McFadden, hes a good player not doubt. Watson is getting older and probably wont be able to sustain the load as our franchise back. Thats why I think its good to have a couple young runners behind him learnign the system so that when its their time, they will be ready.

I never thought it was bad or thought you said it was bad i am just saying i do not see are backs right now having the ability to take over but if one shows then we should go D

Exactly! What one position can help an offense and a defense...........a RB. Ask Pitt or the 2001 Ravens.

The Vikes needed defense? They were #1 against the run. And a top ten overall I believe. A running game is a defene's best freind anyhow. So in a way they drafted defense by picking AP.

If Ray Rice is there in the 2nd he would be a steal. Slaton is small and always nicked up. I'd pass on him.

The Vikes had some problems at D, there were none of their needs at there spot, yet Peterson fell to them. It's like the Saints in 2006. RB was not their #1 need, but you can't pass up the #1 player in the draft. They didn't need a RB, but Peterson was there and that was a no-brainer.

Plus, we just took Kenny Irons, I don't think we're going to take a 1st day RB unless it's McFadden. We may take one in the later rounds to replace someone we lose.

McFadden is a speed/power/hands back that can do it all, and if you watch any Arkansas games you see that he has stamina and he can also throw. McFadden brings a lot to any offense and I don't want to see McFadden anywhere else I also don't want to see what he can do against our defense. So we should absolutely draft defense unless McFadden is available, but he will not be I guarantee it.

I read "Minnesota needed Defense but they went with Adrian Peterson."

Also Minnesota is still one of the worst teams in the league. They needed a QB (still do) WR (drafted in Sidney Rice) and they needed a pass defense.

Who at that spot (7) was there to help them on defense for the secondary or as a LB? Patrick Willis... ergh okay they have Chad Greenway who was a 1st round draft pick in 2006.

Darrelle Revis was the 1st CB taken in the 2007 NFL Draft at spot 15 I believe.

So at that point there was nobody there to help them on defense, and nobody was making good enough offers for Minnesota to move down.

Chester Taylor was a 1,000 yard back in 2006 prior to Minnesota drafting AP.

So practically if we draft and there is not a stud defensive player that can help our defense, you have to go with Darren McFadden.

But it won't happen I guarantee it.

Houston or Oakland will get him.

Or heck Miami might get him.

Ray Rice will fall into the 3rd round.

He is too short and a Rudi Johnson clone practically. I see him falling into round 3, like Garrett Wolfe the stud RB from NIU last year.

I remember I had us taking Wolfe in the 5th-6th round. I was shocked when he went in the 3rd round, and the Bears. However, that didn't stop me from taking him on Madden 07: ;)

With the likes of Eric Weddle and Paul Posluszny right?

I know I did that in Madden 2008.

Surprisingly yes, and it happened naturally, no trades needed, but God Bless RFAs and compensation picks. I remember getting Weddle from a 74 to a 98 in two seasons.. Oh the good ol' days.
