I didn't put this in the Mock Draft subforum because this is what I WANT to happen, not what I THINK will happen...

Round 1, Pick 1
Andrew Luck, QB Stanford

Round 1, Pick 28
***Bengals trade their 2nd (33rd overall) and 3rd round picks to move back into the late 1st round***
Mike Pouncey. G/C Florida

***Bengals trade Chad Ochocinco to Washington for their 2nd round pick***
Round 2, Pick 45
Jeremy Beal, DE, Oklahoma

Round 4
Jeron Johnson, SS Boise State

Round 5
Kendrick Ellis, NT Hampton

Round 7
Phillip Livas, KR/PR Louisiana Tech

I would be kinda mad to give up a 3rd rounder to move back up into the 1st round.

I'm not as sold on this year's Pouncey as I was last year's version.

agree. I like Mike, but he's not Maurkice. I think he's being a little over valued because of his brother (the same can be said for Casey Mathews). I'd much rather have Demarcus Love or Cannon over Mike Pouncey.

Maurkice > Mike

Aside from Luck I am not a huge fan of the draft in general.

That was just a guess on what it would cost to get back into the 1st. Might be able to do it for a 2nd and a 4th?

The only problem i've seen with Pouncey is his snapping early in the season. Seems fine with blocking so I'd think he could play guard. But then again I haven't watched much of Florida this year.

Do you plan on resigning TO? Because with this draft our WR corp next year would be Shipley, Simpson, and Caldwell:cry: To be honest even if we do resign TO and get rid of Chad we need to draft a WR that can play right away. Also I really do not see Chad as being much of a trade bait. He has struggled the last couple of seasons, on top of the fact that all he has left on his deal is a one year team option. So if I am a team that wants him they will wait to see if the Bengals are gonna pick up his option and in that case the Bengals do not have much leverage and he is not worth too much especially 2rd.

Mike should not be playing center, his natural position is guard. Florida must think since his twin could play center, that he can too.

And trading a 3rd rounder just so we can move up 5 slots seems like a bad deal for us, we need more bodies and should be trading down if anything.

Yeah I would definitely either bring in TO or another free agent.

I think our new HC/OC/QB combo can deal with the wideouts we currently have, minus Chad. Even without Chad, we still have more talent with TO, Shipley, and Gresham than a lot of teams currently have.

Aside from Luck I am not a huge fan of the draft in general.

With this draft, we get:

- A new franchise QB
- An O-lineman that can start immediately
- Depth to the D-line
- A safety that leads his team in tackles 3 seasons in a row and is known for his solid angles and high football IQ
- Possibly the best return specialist in college football

Until we fix the O-line, improve the running gameLuck won't be any better than Palmer. He'll be worse because he is a rookie.

Also, I'd rather stay in 2 and take Marcus Cannon than trade up for Pouncey.

Ellis will not make it out of the 3rd round 4th maybe but there is no way he is there in the 5th.

Agreed. But that does not mean he will not be one of the top 2 guards in the draft.

But is also 5'10 (short) and runs a 4.64 forty (slow). You can get by in the WAC with that but this is the NFL.

I like it; you picked good 'needs' positions. I would not go up to get Pouncey. If he falls to you, take him. Other great guards in the 2nd, Franklin, Hudson, Cannon. Hudson needs some lbs.

I think you can only afford to get one DL. The other needs to be a WR, wide out type, slots are about all we will have left.

As far as Chad goes, first they would have to excersize their option for 2011. Between the size of his contract, his recent on field ADHD issues, and hoping for a 2nd round pick, it would appear unlikely.

True, true, and true.

Fix the o-line and Palmer will be fine. Need at least one new starter, and one quality prospect in case Andre craps out.

Bengals can live with Palmer another season, but cannot live with a crap o-line and a d-line that fails to generate pressure. Heck, I'd love to see them sell out on one side of the ball or the other, and then use mid round picks a new kicker, FB, and special teams aces.

Picks 1-4, o-line x2, SAM, safety, 5+6, FB and kicker, 7-special teamer with preference to a gunner.

Re-sign TO since he's been vocal about returning. Exercise Chad's option for 2011, think it's 6.5M, and sign some vet linemen.
