Tulsa Drillers 1st base coach Mike Coolbaugh died Sunday after being hit in the head by a line drive in the first base coach's box during a game in Arkansas.
The game between the Double A Drillers and the Arkansas Travelers was suspended in the 9th inning Sunday after Coolbaugh was hit by a foul ball. He was taken to Baptist Medical Center North Little Rock, where he was pronounced dead at 9:47 P.M.
The 35 year old Coolbaugh leaves behind 2 small sons and wife Amanda, who's expecting a 3rd child in October.
"Our entire organization grieves at the death of Mike Coolbaugh." Rockies President Keli McGregor said.
The Tulsa Drillers are the Double A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
